I too feel GN has been lacking a bit of a spark recently
Nina, please pop into the Argy Caff. You will be most welcome. We just write whatever rubbish comes in to our heads. It's a bit of light relief for some of us, who have quite stressful lives.
NO-ONE will criticise you you for your opinion or what you write, unlike some other threads.

I passed on the egg slicer one - that was a step too far... but I did comment on the washing one - tis a bit worrying!!!

The answer to that is 'write something interesting' yourself annsixty. I find it varied and enjoy reading the posts and occasionally contributing. Not all the posts are my cup of tea but we're all so different which is part of GN.
