Definitely needs a nice anonymous forum, this! My daughter-in-law is pregnant! 11 years married to my DS, both very workaholic career people, she's now 42. I knew they had tried and it hadn't happened, but I had thought that was it, no children for them. She's just coming up to 12 weeks and they haven't told anyone other than us yet, so I can only share on here. Now I am so, so happy for them, and just very anxious that nothing goes wrong. Thank you, you may now clap.

Wonderful. My daughter was 42 and no problems, my daughter in law is in her late thirties and baby due in 10 weeks! I thought I was never going to be a nanny and now two little ones, best feeling in the world.

Thank you all so much. I (and they) thought that children were just not going to happen for them. Sending good wishes and hope for any of you or yours in a similar position. The (Chinese?) proverb comes to mind: Keep a green tree in your heart and perhaps a singing bird will come.
