Can you name ten things

That you like about yourself
Physical attributes, or personality traits? I asked for ten because its hard to stick to three when it comes to songs or heartthrobs; but can everyone count ten reasons to feel good about yourself?

midgey Sun 17-Sep-17 14:06:06

I'm not sure that I could!

Grannyknot Sun 17-Sep-17 14:10:41

I'm sure I can smile

Off the top of my head (literally): my hair, my smile, my teeth, my feet, I'm optimistic, resourceful, steady, calm, friendly ... and according to my husband, a No. 1 wife. grin

MissAdventure Sun 17-Sep-17 14:17:05

Good list, grannyknot
Midgey, I could start off your list. You were very kind to me the other day when I was struggling, and I'm a stranger on a website. So... kindness...?

midgey Sun 17-Sep-17 14:24:34

Thank you MissA, that's kind.blush

Between physical and personality traits, I can easily think of ten (though the ratio is probably 1:9) , but then the vicar who confirmed me used to say in my hearing - with a big smile on his face 'Lord make me humble, and please let everybody notice ...' grin

Ana Sun 17-Sep-17 14:32:39

I could, but I won't. I find the whole idea slightly embarrassing...

MissAdventure Sun 17-Sep-17 14:43:12

Well, the main thing is that you can think of them. I'm interested to see if confidence comes with age. I hear a lot of women saying they didn't realise how pretty they were when young, or that they weren't actually fat but thought they were.

Nanabilly Sun 17-Sep-17 14:58:55

Mmmm. Let's see , I'm not used to saying or even finding positive things about myself.
I'm a happy person
My glass is always half full As they say , but not with alcohol.
I'm a giver not a taker
I have a nice smile as I'm always being told.
Not afraid to speak my mind if I have to .
I'm very organised
I'm calm and relaxed
A good cook
Love people and animals
Enjoy my own company ,is that a good thing .?not sure
I'm always happy to just go with the flow.
I'm loyal ,honest and trustworthy
I've never committed a crime .
How's that

Charleygirl Sun 17-Sep-17 15:25:36

Alive
Dry sense of humour
Self sufficient
Very competitive
Pleasant
Relaxed
Prefer animals to children
Also loyal, honest and trustworthy
Upholder of the law
Helpful to others
That is my lot I think- some who have met me on GN may not agree.

Scribbles Sun 17-Sep-17 16:41:01

Pretty eyes (or so I've been told)
Good legs
When asked for my honest opinion, I give it
Loyal
Reliable & trustworthy
Good organiser
Good cook
Cat lover
Good communicator
Confident (in the sense of not being shy or afraid of being in the spotlight)

wot Sun 17-Sep-17 16:46:13

Absolutely nothing (I am a miserable old git!)

kittylester Sun 17-Sep-17 16:53:50

I wish I had known that I was reasonably attractive and when I was younger. I'm fairly happy with my looks now (and even my weight) but if I'd had that confidence when I was younger, I might have more dress confidence now.

I'm with Ana and am not comfortable listing my assets.

gillybob Sun 17-Sep-17 17:37:13

I'm with you wot nothing whatsoever .

lemongrove Sun 17-Sep-17 17:46:25

Steady on Miss Adventure we are British you know!?
In other words, find it hard to big ourselves up in public.

MissAdventure Sun 17-Sep-17 17:49:00

wink but its anonymous, lemongrove. Nobody will recognise you, unless that is, they've always admired those same 10 qualities about you.

lemongrove Sun 17-Sep-17 17:53:18

which is quite possible?

MissAdventure Sun 17-Sep-17 17:55:09

Very true.. grin

Maggiemaybe Sun 17-Sep-17 18:14:31

Yes, I can, but I won't. I've always been happy in my own skin and very confident, despite coming from a very British upbringing where the highest accolade would be "You'll pass in a crowd". grin

Marydoll Sun 17-Sep-17 18:55:14

Like some posters, I'm not comfortable with blowing my own trumpet. I wish I could do so, anonymous or not.

joannapiano Sun 17-Sep-17 19:02:19

I'm good with kids and animals. Still with DH after 47 years.
Can't think of anything else.

M0nica Sun 17-Sep-17 19:30:47

Maggiemaybe, I share your feelings and background. My grandmother's flattener, if anyone showed any delight in anything they achieved was: 'Your trumpeter won't die of overwork'

Chewbacca Sun 17-Sep-17 19:36:51

I'd have been shot down with a sharp retort of "You've always had big ideas about yourself", so find it best to say nowt now.

Alima Sun 17-Sep-17 19:47:09

This is like one of those awful sections on a CV when you have to state your personal qualities etc. Completely out of my comfort zone.

Grannyknot Sun 17-Sep-17 19:55:07

I'm a simple soul, when someone asks me a question, I respond to it with an open mind.

However, I now feel stap about myself for blowing my own trumpet grin
