Afternoon from packing central !!

Ahhh I love my Tassimo soop , it is my morning treat of a latte ! Starts my day off just right.

I love a good coffee Charley and I agree some coffee just doesn't hit the mark. You could get a coffee advent calendar( I've seen them advertised ) and try a different coffee a day until you find one you like?

We are simply moving stuff from one place to another currently . Not getting anywhere fast!!

Our girls have planned New Years Eve together this year as they will only just be back from us in Norfolk . Grampy had the sterling idea of surprising them so I have just booked 2 nights in a local hotel and we ( and Sam) will be turning up on their doorstep unexpectedly to bring in the New Year. I do love a good surprise !!

Other than that - we are now resigned to eating leftovers till we move- so tonight's Sunday dinner will include ( but probably not be restricted to) egg, bacon, spaghetti from TIN( none of this posh stuff LOL) and toast!!!

We know how to live !!

I remember well the eating up of food before a move, we had some very interesting meals from the freezer as our stuff was going into storage. Believe it or not we have never re-created them

It's been a good day here. Mild and fine so managed to tame a flower bed that's been bothering me. Feet up for a while now then onwards to the ironing, a roast and sshh, those profiteroles.

Ah, Wagon Wheels, Soop! They are a lot smaller than they used to be, or is it just that we are a lot bigger than we used to be ?.....
I have a CD of all the old radio theme tunes - Dick Barton and Paul Temple among them. Great stuff! Last Christmas I wrote a little play for Evan, DH and I to do for his mum and dad. There was a fight scene in Father Christmas's living room ? and I wanted to find some fight sceney music so I chose The Devils Gallop - it fitted the bill perfectly!
Baggs I never knew who was going to wake up on my sofa either when my two were at home! I thought I ran a kitchen for waifs and strays and DH was always running someone home!
Well, thank goodness for that! I am probably the only one who didn't suss out fennel’s old name. I had an inkling but couldn't tie it up. Dim.
We got up very early today to go and watch DD and her menfolk run in a 5k race at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, in aid of their funds. There were about a thousand runners and the course went round the animal enclosures. SiL said one of the lions ran alongside the fence to see what all the fuss was about! For anyone who has never been to the YWP I can thoroughly recommend it. It was my first visit and I was absolutely blown away by it. They have a superb collection of animals and they all look relaxed and in excellent condition, and the landscaping in their enclosures has been very well thought out. I could have stood all afternoon just watching the ring tailed lemurs. And the polar bears - WOW! Now I am absolutely cream crackered and intend to spend the rest of the day with my feet up!

The Dame at the York Theatre Royal pantos., Berwick Kaler, used to hurl Wagon Wheels into the audience. We were always sitting in the God's but he could get them right up there and our kids lived in hope of catching one. They were as big as saucers then, well nearly!
Then, for a few years Elf n Safety stopped the practise but it's been resurected though now, of course, they are only half their original size.

For anyone who is interested they sell lardy cake in Greggs bakeries. My stick-thin friend buys a piece as a treat every week. I think they call it dripping cake. Not as nice as home-made, dry in comparison to the ones I used to make.
I am a lurker on here, to keep in touch with the family ailments and problems, but don't comment as soop is getting busier and busier with so many posts to read. She is amazing!

Chocolate profiteroles! If I buy those for Minibaggs's birthday tomorrow (17), I won't have to make a cake. She prefers profiteroles to cake anyhow. Thanks for the idea, corner! Might get strawberries too—her favourite fruit.

Greyduster If the animals are well care for then I'm happy. MacSporran asked me why Rory's chalet had a cushion in it. I told him that should any passing creature need a snug place to sleep--- then I'd be chuffed.

The profiteroles were delicious, baggs, just right with the strawberries. An excellent alternative to birthday cake. Happy birthday to Minibaggs for tomorrow, hope the day is a good one.

Just popping the lardy cakes in the oven! They've taken hours to prepare. Hope they're worth it.

Is there a place here for bad, bad pets.
On Friday evening my D had to rescue one of her 3 cats who was hanging by a leg from a computer desk.
While getting him out she was badly bitten on the hand as he panicked and struggled.
Long story short, she is in hospital tonight on an iv
drip with a really bad infection from 5 deep punctures.She had spent 4 hours in A&E on Friday night but got worse over the weekend.
She is alone as her C are in Bermuda visiting their father.
I feel absolutely dreadful but apart from H I could not do the train journey and cross London on my own without assistance.Her neighbours are coping with the animals and a friend is taking the puppy to a kennel tomorrow.
Not what she wants but needs must. I am so upset.
