Well, the sale went through and we now own this new bar, Isn’t it wonderful? So clean and shiny ( that won’t last!) Come on in, have a drink and tell the tale of what you have been up to. All the old staff are here, in the cellar checking the stock, but will be up here shortly to take your orders.???
Soop I thought you were refeened! Give me the bottle!? What would the other^ kitchen say? It’s been a hard few days iyswim, but I’m back now. Port and lemon for me too
Ok ok the Jolly Sailor was a disappointment, not very Jolly and not real sailors, good to see you all back at the Argy, I hope you appreciate the work I have put in, now all I want is a large port and lemon. It's my birthday soon, can I rely on you people to show me a good time?
Aww soop you're so good. I'm virtually scoffing them. Hey I'm sure that triple vodka was spiked earlier. Just woke up under this bar stool with a coggy on me brow and me drawers back to front ?
At lemonsgrove's request I've virtually baked some calorie-free flapjack thingies for you lot. The Cornish would riot if they as much looked at one of those leather-like "parsties" that have given the regulars severe heart burn. Yep, that's the correct pronunciation. My dearly beloved is a Cornishman. Whilst I'm here, may I have a treble measure of the best malt whisky. Tell you what, forget the measure, just leave me together with Big Jim and the bottle. We'll help ourselves. I may even leave a tip. Nothing too grand. I've a box full of old pennies that you're welcome to. Bye for now.
A large Pernod and a Cornish pastie please, I shall park my assets on this high stool and wait for a while,Jamsidedown Or ‘Jammy* for short may be along soon, also Soop promised to look in with more home made baked goods! Yay! Can’t think where MaryChewy and Meno are, they left a rather mysterious note on the bar saying they ‘had things to do’ Even Jane and her acolytes are missing ( I’m thinking either January Sales or that awful low bar at the other end of town, The Rat And Bottle.)?
Well, the Irish night went well, we were assorted leprechauns shamrocks and Irish famous characters, and Chewbacca came as a pint of Guinness! The bar was packed with customers ( mostly drunks) and we made a packet of money, hooray! Am off out now ( with the packet of money) to buy new shoes, oops I mean to put it in the bank.Laters!
This weekend I think we should all get together and sort out the cellar, pipes, stock and glasses, surely we want the Argy to go into the new year all prepared so who is up for a workforce weekend, free drinks and pork scratchings(slightly out of date) to all who attend. We need scrubbers(Mary) and team leaders(Chewy) to organise, I will make another vat of dubious punch to keep you all going, whose up for it?
