Snow!

We are in Mid Wales,

We were expecting the same; all the weather forecasts and maps indicated amber warnings for early this morning and falls of apololyptic proportions. All plans for the weekend were accordingly cancelled. What have we had? I have sifted more icing sugar onto the top of a Victoria sandwich than we have had so far. They have now downgraded the forecast. Surprise surprise! No! I’m not complaining; we may yet get it, but I just hate to feel shackled to the weather forecast.

Annie I saw pictures of Sennybridge. You certainly have a basinful in your neck if the woods. Stay safe and warm!

Not exactly snowed in as I could get down the farm road in our 4x4 if I really had to but I'm not going anywhere!!

I can't remember when we last had so much continuous snow fall in East Cambs. We lit the woodburner early, bread is in the breadmaker and mince pies on the go.

DD1 is stuck in Lincolnshire having been working there over the weekend so DGS will be eating with us. I'm glad she's made the decision not to try and get back as the roads will be treacherous.

We certaintly have Greyduster, I have filled three thermos's , got plenty of food in for Lottie , don't like this amount of snow in December , too early. Why do I choose to live in the mountains, duh

We had a tiny bit this morning but it has come to nothing and is melting fast.

About 6 inches in Oxford and still coming down!

I live in London and the snow is deep here. There is no way I could drive because the road is on a slope and I think that I would end up driving gently into the idiot's car who parks opposite the entrance.

Because, Annie, on a good weather day, The Beacons are glorious beyond words!

The news says we have about 7" here - but I have to say it is more like 12" from where I am sitting!

Everything cancelled and I ma guessing nativity plays planned for tomorrow are unlikely to happen as the schools will be closed I expect.

It is magic though and we are hunkered down by the woodburner.

It's sleeting where I am just west of London right now, a frosting on rooftops, but not settling on pavements which are too wet from overnight rain. Snow looks pretty but I hate they way it makes everything grind to a halt. Off to the Cotswolds on Tuesday for a few days so hoping it's cleared a bit by then.

Just sleet in our corner of Somerset, although there are a couple of inches a few miles away. We'll see

Except where there is still a sprinkling on the fields, all ours has gone now. Ho hum!

That'll teach me - I turned and looked out of the window and saw huge white flakes, sticking too.

Steady snowfall in North Somerset, settling on grass but not on road or footpath - yet!

It's been snowing most of the morning in London turning slushy but still snowing. I see kids going past wit sledges on their way to the hills in the park. We won't be going anywhere today but tomorrow we need to get to the hospital for OHs Radiotherapy and the hospital is a bit out in the sticks so fingers crossed.

Oh! It has changed its mind. Now coming down with a vengeance!
