Splayed tyres!

Well, you learn something every day! Our car went for its MOT today and apparently the front tyres were "splayed" out probably because we drive with our wheels either side of speed humps. It seems you should let one side of the car actually go over hump!
We have quite a few humps like that around here. Of course no problem if hump goes all across the road.

I have read the same from “Honest John” in the DT
Worth knowing.

I knew that the thread on the inside of the tyres wore out more quickly if you have to go over speed humps regularly, which we do. That's worth knowing Newquay, as it could perhaps be quite dangerous.

Thanks for the tip Newquay. I would never have thought of that! It's something I always do when I meet speed humps, but that's not too frequent, fortunately. I had my MOT last week and nothing like this was said [phew emoticon]

Well, I'll definitely change my humping habits! Thanks.

I've got splayed tyres but my husband doesn't seem to mind
