My late MiL praised my scones - so they must have been good. I have always been successful with pastry, but the last time I made it, though it tasted lovely, it was ultra crumbly and would have made a great crumble topping. Realised, far too late, that I had left it to form a ball in the food processor and forgotten to mix it with water...
As I'm on my own, I rarely make cakes, but I don't remember ever having any complaints.
