All mine have been mentioned, too, and I'm not adding to the list, even though I could, as I'd rather he kept on doing them than wasn't here. Something good? DGS with the Crohn's is doing well on the new medication and the supermarket daffodils look amazing on the kitchen table.

This my cat - his sense of timing is all askew. When I'm watching something intently (like Spiral) and it's about ten minutes to go to the end when a 'cliffhanger' situation is about to unfold - he appears maiowing for something. I reply, "Hang on a moment puss, hang on." I stand up to show my intention of doing whatever (refilling his food dish, replacing whatever he disapproves of) he requires. I could set my watch by him.
Things which cheer me are seeing the new snowdrops I planted and new shoots coming up, looking forward to daffodils, etc.
Sorry for your loss Gypsyqueen13 I also would love to have my husband back so that I could moan about little things.

Pittcity I was beginning to wonder how my husband could be in so many places at once too?. Maybe he’s a time traveler.
He has got many redeeming features too but if I was technically savvy enough I’d post a photo of the dining chair in the middle of the room, he’s just gone out and always pulls the chair out to put his shoes on. He then leaves it there.

Why does mine turn on the bathroom light every morning, even when bright morning sunshine is already lighting it up way brighter than the electric light can? He always forgets to turn it off afterwards too, because the sun is so bright that he can't see that the light is on!

My smile - that very same morning sunshine when it puts in an appearance, especially at this time of year

Definitely the abandonned washing up bowl still full of greasy washing up water and the overfull kettle for 1 cup of tea!

Niggle , people who ring the doorbell several times while I race up the hall to answer the door ..

Smile , I managed to cut my toenails today for the first time in 5 years

When DH puts empty milk containers and old newspapers on the worktop by the back door and never ever thinks to open the door and put them in the recycling bins!!!!

Watching two Robins in my garden eating the droppings from the fatball feeder which other birds are pecking at.It always makes me smile how they leave all the hard work to their feathered friends.

My niggle is going to the cupboard or fridge to find the cupboard or fridge Fairy (aka DD3!) has left the empty multipack of crisps bag in there or eaten the last yoghurt and left the packaging in there!!!
My smile for today was the enormous fat Robin Redbreast on my patio, seeing all the other birds off his territory. Perhaps he’s the crisp/yoghurt thief!

My DH can never use a tube of toothpaste to the end even though I use a fancy bulldog clip to keep it rolled up. Plus although he does put a new loo roll on the holder he always leaves the old roll by the sink still with a few sheets on it.

But the smile came on Tuesday when he washed the large kitchen/diner floor plus take down the living room curtains put them the washing machine and later hang them out. All while I was out having my nails done and a massage. Todays smile was he said he would take our lovely cleaner home which is a bit hard for him as she doesn't speak English and he doesnt speak Portuguese. All so I could go out to a coffee morning and on to lunch with a friend.

Gypsyqueen13 Thank you and much love. I am a coward. When these family anecdotes abound, as here and at my Church group, I just shut up and inside my heart sobs silently. I was widowed by suicide when I was 41. I know it is natural for people to have niggles and joys about their loved ones and long may they do so. We must not forget though that the married couple with children and grandchildren whom they see and with whom all goes well isn't the norm for everyone. Lots of love Gypsyqueen, remember to treat yourself to little joys and treats - days off from the house work maybe?

Niggle is when people start every sentence with "So..."

Smile - ending dry January with my lovely DH, great recorded TV, and a bottle of good wine!

My DH does most of the annoying things mentioned - plus he goes shopping and buys things we don't need. Example today really wound me up - a large pack of dried pasta when the pasta jar is already filled to the brim. I think it's so annoying because we have very limited kitchen storage space.

Smile is a wren hopping about on our patio pots - a new visitor for us.

DH not emptying washing up bowl after washing a greasy dish in the evening so it's there for me to discover next morning - yuk! Emptying tablets out of their plastic blister packets to put into pill box then leaving all these empty blister packs a metre away from the bathroom bin...

Watching that beautiful, bright full moon last night - wonderful.

Sorry, silverlining, didn't read your post before I posted mine!

No DH to moan about, almost 5 years since I was widowed. However today's niggle was electrician turning up unannounced, I had a new gas boiler installed on Monday & company were supposed to contact me for suitable date for electrician, he'd come from Falmouth (Cornwall) to me in South Devon, he was lucky to catch me at home. Lovely man & although it disrupted my day at least the job's done.

My smile today was brilliant blue sky (a couple of heavy showers) & gorgeous Cream Tea with friends. Beautiful clear starry sky tonight

A few days ago I hadnt done the small amount of ironing in the cupboard, DH came along and said " when are you going to iron my three shirts that I am waiting for" I said he has a wardrobe of shirts, and if he wants one that needs ironing he knows where the iron is!
Smile - I had my ears syringed yesterday and can now HEAR everything!

Niggle: the return of spitting in public - I thought this went out decades ago, but it's back! Some Professional sportsmen are really bad role models for it!

A niggle, a couple of days ago, no charge going into my mobile phone. Was I going to have to get a new one?

Many smiles yesterday, when the charge cable I'd ordered turned up in record time and all was well again. No new phone needed.

My niggle is the neighbour slamming her front door so loudly everytime she uses it.
My smile is spending an hour with my daughter today while the grandchildren were at school. I so love my grandchildren but one on one time with my children is so rare and very precious

My niggle- when H leaves weetabix crumbs on workgroup every morning! But the biggest grumble is when I get asked what I've done with an item of clothing that is definitely not in his wardrobe, but guess what magic happens when I look in there, yes it's there all the time! My daughter calls it a typical 'man look'. It happens almost weekly in our house. Infuriating!
My smile was doing the rspb bird count and realising how lucky I am to have so many feathered visitors.

My latest smile was watching the new Gordon Buchanan wildlife series that started tonight and seeing the little meerkats standing on their hind legs. I'd only noticed the larger ones do that before. ?
