On soop's behalf, I will post her usual welcome

Here we are again
Happy as can be
All good pals and jolly good company.
Never mind the weather
Never mind the rain
As long as we're together...
Whoops we go again.

WELCOME. Make yourselves at home flowers

We had lunch at the theatre today, overlooking the river with DD and Flynn , watching the swans, rowers, dog walkers and cyclists on a crisp and sunny morning.
Flynn is "feeding" the theatre fountain with a fistful of coppers - and greeting all and sundry. A bit more cheerful than at 5.30 this morning !
(Yawn)

Carer has been , we couldn't lift him at all the two of us. He is going to need two carers but I have rung the surgery and waiting for a call back from the GP. He is more confused than ever and can't understand simple requests or instructions, may be another UTI.

MawBroon Wed 07-Mar-18 12:51:16

Oh poor you Annsixty , when Paw had his final fall, the one which put him back in hospital shortly before he died, we waited 21/2 hours for an ambulance and having landed heavily on a tiled bathroom floor he could have broken his hip. I was told that elderly falls do not count as an emergency as long as the patient is conscious/breathing!
Even our burly 6’6” electrician could not get him up and the best I could was to try to slide cushions under the bony bits, a pillow under his head and keep him warm with a duvet.
Dark days and unhappy memories indeed.

N&G I agree that Jackson's mummy is a gifted costume maker. Love the chicken pork comment. So matter of fact. grin

soop Wed 07-Mar-18 12:41:06

Galen I'm so sorry that you are still far from your upbeat self. Please take things easy and be extra careful on the stairs. Although I believe that you have a stair lift. Surely it has been fixed by now.
Where's Gary when you need him? wink

Ann Lord knows you have had more than anyone's fair share of difficulties and stresses to deal with. This latest incident must have been truly awful for you both. PLEASE SS do something positive. When this sort of thing happened to my pal's husband, TWO ambulances arrived. He weighed in at a hefty twenty stones and it took a team of paramedics to lift him.

AnnieB I envy your vitality. Will you be doing more family research?

Maw Keep up the good work. Take plenty of photos of Flynn for us lot to coo over.

CharleyG Our friend has been given the all clear. She looks and feels like a new woman. I nagged her for almost a year before she finally gave in and went to her GP. Her hip was crumbling. She had a dog at the time and wouldn't leave her. She also feared not being able to visit her husband in the care home. Anyway...all is well. She bit the proverbial bullet and has been gifted a new lease of life.

I cannot say I have tasted chicken/pork before but Jackson loves it so it must be okay. His mum is very clever because Jackson and Cooper are frequently photographed wearing smart costumes.

I do hope that Sam is alright and has survived the dreadful weather.

Tara is outdoors as usual. She is going to get a nasty shock on Friday because we are off to see the vet. She is drinking a lot of water so I hope my baby girl does not have kidney problems.

She has totally brand new bedding (very cheap via Ebay) but she is less than impressed. She clawed holes in the last duvet cover- she had better not have designs on this one.

Galen you have to take it slowly with this lurgy- I agree, you should not be considering going to work.

Ann I do not know what to say- what a day you have had. It makes it ten times worse because H does not understand.

NanaandGrampy Wed 07-Mar-18 12:24:12

Afternoon all !

Just playing catch up .

So sorry to hear about Hs fall Ann . Its just such an awful state of affairs. I wish I could be of better help than a few words of support.

Safe journey Agus , along with that girl guide shovel and rope do you have the requisite clean hankie and 2p for the phone ? ;-)

Sorry to hear you still feel so ill Galen I hope this means not heading off into work too soon .

soop please add me to the list of cuddles from young Teddy. Tiny babies are my favourite. Although I love the things they say as they get bigger.

Today my favourite is :

Jackson: I love this chicken
Mummy: Its pork
Jackson : OK I love this chicken pork !!

Had to finish up with a picture of Jackson at World Book Day as one of his favourite books. Costume all made by his mum !

Glad your hospital visit went wel Agus must be a relief. Good luck on your journey.

Oh soop please keep posting those baby photos they are lovely. I do so want a cuddle.
Flynn could cheer any patient up maw isn't he gorgeous.

Glad you're feeling a bit better Galen
Hello everyone else ?. Keep warm and safe.

Anniebach Wed 07-Mar-18 10:28:57

Ann, how awful for you both, I despair that you are struggling so much.

I have a busy day, off to Londonderry this morning, then up north to Anglesey and a quick dash to Liverpool to search a graveyard

ann more worries for you. Can't believe your DH was on the floor for 2 hours. Must be hard for someone with dementia to understand they have to use a walker. Hope the careers get him settled in bed and both you and he have a rest today. Can your doctor not get a better response from SS. You always have my sympathy and here is a brew hope today gets better and your family troubles are resolved

annodomini Wed 07-Mar-18 10:14:41

Evidently SS are in their usual state of confusion! Nothing changes. You could contact one of your local councillors and ask him/her to liaise with them and get them moving on the pendant. It's outrageous (my favourite word at the moment) that your H should be left lying all that time after yet another fall.

Tea and sympathy here as well please.
I had been awake for ages with worrying about yet another family problem when I heard a bang just before 7am. H had got up and wandered into the kitchen, no walker, and fallen. No way could he move at all. I tried the carers, then 111 and finally 999.
A paramedic called me back and after ascertaining there was no injury he arranged for a community alert agency to come from Manchester to lift him and get him back into bed.
He was on the floor for 2 hours. He is now asleep but is as weak as a kitten. I will ask the carer to wash him ,change him and leave him in bed for the day.
If we had had the pendant I have asked for several times we could have had him lifted far sooner.
SS are really not helping me at all.

Safe journey Agus

Agus Wed 07-Mar-18 09:42:31

Just going through my last minute check list before venturing north as the roads are now cleared. I have packed. vital supplies and, should I encounter any snow, I have called on my Girl Guide training to be prepared, one snow shovel and some good strong rope which will enable me to attach said shovel to the front of my car and clear the A9, simples! grin

Coffe, tea, hot chocolate prepared for those who wish to pop into the kitchen to rest a while.

Hope today is a better one for our fellow Kitcheners who are struggling with their own problems.

morethan2 Wed 07-Mar-18 09:23:24

I’d like a cuddle soop before I retired I saw dozens of babies every week. I miss the babies and the families but not working for the paper form riddled nhs. Talking of the nhs my husband went to our GP last week with a funny mole. Yesterday he was at the specialist clinic, examined and the mole removed. How wonderful is that.gorgeous paramedic there maw must go just got telephone call from my sister saying her MiL has died so need to give tea and sympathy in another kitchen sad

JaneD3 Wed 07-Mar-18 09:13:09

Do take care Galen. We have sunshine at last - that should make you feel better!

Agus Wed 07-Mar-18 00:04:02

Pleased to hear you are improving Galen albeit slowly and still dealing with breathlessness. Take care going back upstairs and hopefully you feel a bit more improvement tomorrow.

Galen Tue 06-Mar-18 23:52:42

Sorry I’m not posting. I’ve been proper poorly..
Improving , but trying to walk around or, talk leaves me breathless.
Got dressed today and came downstairs, now trying to summon up the energy to go back up.
No energy to read through other posts but Dominus Vobiscum I’ll have the energy tomorrow.

Charleygirl Tue 06-Mar-18 17:46:00

Ah Maw I have definitely lost it, it is now official- you gave enough clues.

MawBroon Tue 06-Mar-18 17:42:21

Other Stratford, Charleygirl! (The one with all the swans in the river. ) She is doing a play for the RSC “The Duchess of Malfi” which opened at the beginning of March. Babysitting in the evenings and afternoons when she has to go in and I am hoping to go myself tomorrow night.
I believe it is very gory (maybe I should take a sofa with me to hide behind!)

JaneD3 Tue 06-Mar-18 17:37:16

Flynn and Teddy are just lovely! My turn!

Charleygirl Tue 06-Mar-18 17:26:52

Maw how old is Flynn now? He is concentrating so well for such a little mite. Stratford is at the end of one of my tube lines, you had better hang on to him- he is so lovely and another who is growing so fast.

soop on a more serious note re your friend who had the recent infected THR. If she has an infection anywhere else on her body she must go to the GP to commence antibiotics immediately- she is not out of the woods yet and I hope that she has an appointment soon at the hospital.

callgirl1 Tue 06-Mar-18 17:22:31

Bless you Soop, and you are definitely NOT boring! Love the latest baby pic.
I had a letter this morning to say that my new bedroom furniture is being delivered on Saturday, which I`m pleased about, but could wish for a better window of time, between 7.30am and 7.30pm, sort of puts paid to me going into town on Saturday, doesn`t it?

soop Tue 06-Mar-18 17:07:33

Agus Anyone who can put up with my little foibles, is lovely. As are you. grin

Exercise bike time. Oh the dread when I mount it...and the glee when I hop off. I'm winning the battle of my bulge. It's a hard slog...but I have an outfit put to one side for when we visit the family.

No ironing duty until Thursday of this week. I'm well chuffed.

Back with you all again in the morning. I trust that weather wherever you are is improving, as is ours.

smile moon

Agus Tue 06-Mar-18 16:48:21

Make that affliction grin
