I have/had two daughters and three son in laws. One son in law is now a widower, second son in law is first husband of younger daughter , divorce was her doing not his, third son in law is younger daughters second husband. I don't really know him , they live in Lincolnshire and he travels abroad a lot,

My widower son in law and my son in law who isn't, I will not call him ex , They were wonderful husbands to my daughters, one is a fantastic father to my grandchildren ,the other a very doting God father to my grandchildren. His second wife accepts the fact that he and I care deeply for each other. When my daughter died son in law who isn't wasfirst here, just came in knelt by the sofa and held me. In the recent snow both son in laws phoned to ask if I needed anything . I am truely blessed and think of them as my sons . When I moved a year ago one painted the bungalow, one lay carpets. I support them if they have troubles. When they got engaged to my girls I told them my home was their home. Son in law who isn't asked to stay a few days because his mother was having a new window in his bedroom, he stayed two years ?

Any suggestions for my "son in law who isn't"? It is rather long ?

I meant 'regularly'.

I have two lovely SiLs, very different from each other but then so are my DDs. They complement their wives perfectly. We have made good friends with their parents too. One set invited us to stay with them in France and gave us a wonderful holiday; the other set regular invited us to celebrate New Year with them. Aren't we lucky!

It's just good to hear lovely things about these acquired children.

Yes, I only have one. My DD waited a long time to meet him, but it was well worth it. He would and does a lot for us. We are very very fond of him

There are a lot of sad posts about awkward DILS - and I really feel for those involved in these difficult relationships.

We hear little about sons-in-law; so I just wanted to say that I have 3 of these creatures and they are lovely!

Anyone else blessed with lovely sons-in-law?

Mine are all very different in personality and background, but they share a devotion to our DDs, a sense of integrity, honesty, a willingness to work hard to support their families and kindness. We love them all.
