Anyone bought one of these recently? Any recommendations for a very quiet one? Also does the change of direction of blades really help with circulation of heat in the winter?

Any ideas gratefully received.

We have ceiling fans in all our upstairs rooms, they have 3 speeds, with low energy bulbs attached. I believe most lighting companies sell them. Try John Lewis or even Argos or Next, lots of designs. Ours have one directional blades, absolutely fine.

My son has one in his bedroom, bought from Argos years ago. He only uses it in the summer, works well and very quiet.

We have them in all the bedrooms, we replaced our bedroom one last year when to go with the new furniture. The old one was still good, so it’s in the kitchen, what’s it to keep clean because of the cooking, but a god send in weather like this. Our kitchen is large with a centre table, we often sit there with a drink and the paper, a general meeting place really, so the fan over is so good. Yes it does make a difference to redirect the fans, you can feel the difference in air flow.

Last one was from John Lewis, but I’ve had them from b&q and Tesco direct as well.

I have two in my conservatory had them for years and rarely bother putting them on. Dust collectors. When I replace the conservatory roof I was thinking of not replacing the fans tbh.

I have been using Hunter 52080 for my bedroom, and it works really fine. It's one of the fans I'd recommend for anyone. There is this guide with some great options as well qualityhomeaircare.com/best-bedroom-ceiling-fans/
