Wonderful news!
I feel as if I've been holding my breath ever since the news broke of them having disappeared into the cave.
It's such a shame that Saman Kunan lost his life during the rescue, but thirteen young lives saved is a fitting memorial to his bravery.
It just proves what can be achieved when nations/faiths work together.

A truly amazing outcome, and a superb effort by everyone involved. The parents must be so thankful. The Thai diver who lost his life will be remembered as a hero who gave his life to help others. I see the Wild Boars (the team of lads) have been invited to visited Manchester United when they have recovered. The head coach looked thrilled!

How much air you use when diving varies from person to person. It may be that he took longer than expected on part of the dive or used up more air at a particular difficult place, or took a risk on his air tank holding out in an effort to leave as many cylinders on the route for the rescue attempt.

Such good news.

But I really feel very sad about the diver who died - I am so puzzled that a professional diver would have run out of air in his tank, when people have been diving in and out for a long time with no problem. How very sad indeed.

Absolutely brilliant news, so pleased for the boys and their families. I agree with MOnica
about the rescue operation.

Tweedle24 Tue 10-Jul-18 14:27:16

Hope they are protected from the media.

What an amazing feat and what wonderful international co-operation and how all the local people worked together cross community barriers (Buddhist/Muslim) to sustain and support the rescuers and the families

What a wonderful world it would be if we could act like this when there wasn't a emergency.

Oh thank goodness.
I honestly thought there would be another day of operations to get the coach and the medic etc out.
Hurray.

And if Hollywood gets there I hope the boys and their community benefit. Not to forget the brave diver who didn’t make it and his family.

Fantastic!

That's what we said, Bathsheba and Teetime. Stephen Spielberg is probably already negotiating the film rights.
