Clouds loomed overhead yesterday, much cooler. Sadly no rain ☔. 3pm Sun came out, blue skies and temperature went up but still not as hot as last week.
According to my mobile Today's Forecast is partial cloud with a chance of a shower midday. 0.01 inch!!
We were out walking yesterday and it came over so dark and thundery I was sure we were going to get a soaking, but no. The clouds moved on and it didn’t actually rain anywhere here. The moorland streams are very low and some have dried up altogether. I have given up trying to get enough water to my garden - it will have to take its chances.
Still no rain here, but dark clouds (had to put light on) and thunder. Two miles up the road they had ten minutes heavy rain. (Last time we had rain was when the village flooded about six weeks ago!)
After six weeks in (dry, sunny, hot) California, DH & I flew into Manchester yesterday morning and it rained as we drove home is the taxi. Am I complaining? No!! I love the rain and I had missed it. We're so lucky in the NW because ("they say") the next major world shortage is predicted to be a shortage of water....
Two days ago the forecast was for thunder storms in my bit of Norfolk. By yesterday morning this had evaporated to showers, then posssible light rain. We did actually, briefly feel a few spots of water in the air, but that was it. Apparently the rain has gone north - and south - and will miss us. Another two weeks of glorious sunshine is forecast. And it’ll get even hotter. On current Met Office form this means it’ll rain by the end of the week and get much cooler.
We keep being promised rain, or at least showers. But nothing materializes. We even had a yellow weather warning last week for heavy rain. Not a thing. We see dark clouds but they just pass by. Perhaps it is because we are on the coast. No rain for about 5/6 weeks. Just a little at night would be lovely
We're into the third week of school holidays here, and it has been fine until today, when the rain came on while I was doing an early watering for the vegetables (but not before I had carried the heavy watering cans for miles...). Must be a first for the school holidays anyway
True to the forecast we had the very light pitter patter of rain overnight, the first in ages............and the area looks the worst for it..........and then with day break we had a mini deluge.......certainly refreshed trees etc, but by lunch time it was all over, back to dry,hot and sunny yet again. Usually when it starts raining here it forgets to stop! For once we have been proved wrong!!
Should have been going on a nice outing (last chance before schools breakup) to a NT property in the Manchester area Alas not to be, (emergency visit to MIL).
My mobile is showing rain for that area.
Can any GNer confirm if we had been able to go, would we have got drenched through to our underpants?
