Which drinks do you find best for quenching your thirst?
I like a cup of tea.

Melanieeastanglia Sun 22-Jul-18 17:13:58

Plain water but I don't like it too cold.

Baggs Sun 22-Jul-18 17:14:09

Tea for me too.

We have our drinks cool at room temp - better for your body as not such a shock to the system.

Chewbacca Sun 22-Jul-18 17:18:20

Lime juice and soda.

MissAdventure Sun 22-Jul-18 17:19:04

Oh yes, lime and soda too.

I am currently having a thing for San Pellegrino (sp?) either the pomegranite one or the blood orange one - with lots of ice.

Or flat lemonade with lots of ice.

MawBroon Sun 22-Jul-18 17:37:28

I agree about the blood orange San Pellegrino.
But Chase nd Elderflower liqueur mixed with a good tonic (about 1/3) while it may not be refreshing, is yummy so who cares?

I enjoy a bitter shandy in this weather.
Its the only time I drink alcohol, but oh its lovely!

Sainsbury own orange squash with ice cubes is pretty good,
Also elderflower, water and lemonade.

Oopsadaisy53 Sun 22-Jul-18 21:40:12

Well, I’ve got the builders moving on site tomorrow, so it’s going to be Blackcurrant Squash, Tropical fruit Squash and plenty of ice cubes, plus biscuits.

Since this heatwave began, I have been drinking our homemade elderflower cordial with chilled soda water. I am not usually a fan of cold soft drinks, but find this really refreshing.

rubysong Sun 22-Jul-18 22:28:08

Strawberry Ribena with fizzy water is delicious.

Jalima1108 Sun 22-Jul-18 22:51:26

Elderflower cordial and soda, lime and soda, a nice brew of tea and just plain water.

I know that alcohol is probably not so good to drink in this hot weather, but a very dry cider goes down a treat too.

MissAdventure Sun 22-Jul-18 22:58:47

Strawberry Ribena and fizzy water sounds nice.

MissAdventure Sun 22-Jul-18 23:01:09

I don't think I've ever tried elderflower cordial.
I'll have to get some smile

seacliff Sun 22-Jul-18 23:11:55

Grapefruit and lemon squash with chilled fizzy water

merlotgran Sun 22-Jul-18 23:15:46

The thirst quenching drink of my childhood was lemonade, lots of ice, and the juice of half a fresh lime. Nowadays it works well with diet 7Up or slimline tonic.

MissAdventure Sun 22-Jul-18 23:38:19

How about a Florida orange?
I've just remembered that from my teens.
Fresh orange, lemonade, and a drop of lime.

tictac Mon 23-Jul-18 08:54:00

Very cold diet coke. It's not very good for me I know but it quenches the thirst in a way nothing else does

Lindylo Mon 23-Jul-18 09:58:48

Tea or lemon barley water for me.

Gagagran Mon 23-Jul-18 10:08:07

Elderflower with pressed pear cordial and iced water is delicious if you are very thirsty but a cup of tea is the most refreshing.

Kim19 Mon 23-Jul-18 10:26:06

It's pure grapefruit juice with bits for me. Can't think what brought this on but seem to recollect buying a date reduced carton and now kinda hooked.

rizlett Mon 23-Jul-18 10:27:55

Soda water with a whole half of lemon in it.
