Hope you’re enjoying the relative after the family fest of the last few weeks corner, I know I am! You sound very much like me, only tidier in the sentimental department. I too have all that stuff, it also includes children’s drawing and all manner of other precious junk items which fill 2 large suitcases. I couldn’t bear to part with it all when I decluttered prior to moving here. The old boy found me in tears trying to cull it and said “put it all back in those cases” it’ll just have go with us ... so needless to say I took him at his word and now there’s 10 more years added to it. Then of course there are the many boxes of photos, not to mention the large box full of other rubbish treasures.....one day, one day.... well maybe!
N&G I laughed out loud at your tale My challenge was from our 11 year old gs “Granny, you know French kisses, do people actually DO that, it sounds gross to me?!” Fortunately he was in the back seat of the car so he couldn’t see my face as I replied “Oh I don’t really know, maybe, we’ll probably ?” But this same boy was happy to clutch my hand when it came to a sad bit in a dvd back at the house so I don’t reckon he’s a great danger to girls just yet - even though he is rather gorgeous!

I shall leave our computer switched on. I shall check again before bedtime. I am hoping with all my heart that there will be some positive news regarding our Panache. Mr Panache understands that we are concerned. I shall not trouble him for an update. He will contact us, as promised, when he deems it necessary.

maw Even after 40 + years I still look at the 3 of my 5 children that my father never met and of course now the 8 grandchildren too. He would have loved them all and I like to think he’s proud of the family that his wee girl has now. And that’s “only” my dad.... Thinking of you, emotions are never one dimensional. x

Quick visit to check on panache. I see no news. She was on my mind for most of the day as I finally got my day trip to Tenby and as a major bonus across to Caldey Island. I’m not sure I pray but I sat in the peace of the churches on Caldey with her in my mind.

Shattered now, it’s been a long if lovely day so I’m off. Will try to catch up tomorrow although as there’s a busy day ahead may not manage it. Take care everyone.

GQ, your anecdote about your 11-year-old GS and 'french kissing' reminded me of my GD, aged 11 when we were on holiday in Provence. She had been running around the site with a lot of French teenagers and told her mum that she had had a french kiss. Before her mum could pass out with shock, GD added that she had been kissed 'on both cheeks.'
In two weeks she will be 16 and I doubt if she would make the same mistake now.

A lovely, sunny day. A friend is coming for coffee and we're to prepare a large framed collage of her husband's family and friends. He is in the care home. Has been upgraded to a larger, newly-decorated room. We shall hang his picture when we visit tomorrow.

Soop, I now wonder whether the consultant, on Monday, decided that the (dreaded) abdominal operation was necessary, but that given Panaches’s deterioration, she needed to be “built up” first? That would mean the op was imminent and that Mr Panache was waiting for that to happen before he got back to you? I know she should have had this operation a while ago, but I believe she wanted to get the house sale sorted first. Then her health really plummeted. A very worrying time for both of them, and worrying for all of us too, let’s hope for some good news soon.

Bella I have no idea if the stork took me there or not. Maybe this is why I never had children- there were not too many cabbage patches in the areas of London where we lived!

Morning all .

I have just completed a lengthy claim form for Sam's vet treatment and quite frankly we could have a decent break with what we have to come back. Vet's treatment has got sooo expensive over the years. Shame there is no NHS equivalent for pets:-)

Now that made me chuckle grannie . I love the things kids say.

The two little boys have gone to school together for the first time, Ive posted a picture. Cooper looks like a proper little boy now .

We're off to get Sam his yearly jabs which he will suffer with dignity ( providing there is a treat or two afterwards) and then a day of laundry, ironing and such niff , naff and trivia.

I think people do, ann. I think it was grey who said her OH just couldn’t get his head round the GN friendships. I’m sure a lot of our OHs feel the same way. So be it, at least we all “get it”. ?
On the subject of Panache’s husband, I gather she used to talk to him about her friends on here, and I’m sure he will come back to soop when he has some news.

It did remind me of the afternoon I collected DD plus three of her friends from primary school....on the day they had had the sex education class. I would blush to tell you the conversation which went on in the rear seats!
