Happy as can be
All good friends and jolly good company.
Welcome.

Glad to read news of panache, albeit not the news we were hoping for. Poor Mr P must be both worried and exhausted. Hoping for better news of her soon.
soop, it’s so unlike you to be poorly, I’m glad you’re being well looked after by your lovely man. There’s nothing else for it but to hunker down and accept a bit of tlc. I can understand your disappointment at missing the opportunity to say a last goodbye to a friend. It’s illogical I know, but somehow it does matter when we can’t be there with everyone else who loved that person.
On the dishwasher theme, I see I’m not alone with an old boy who has made an art form out of piling crockery high! My blood runs cold when I see it, but no matter what I say it makes no odds - he will do what he will do! We too have “words” about such matters - and the loading of the dishwasher as well... maybe you could sign my old boy up for those classes greyduster, I have a suspicion that they could prove popular!
Ann, if anyone deserved a good break it’s you... squeeze every ounce of pleasure from it and enjoy those cocktails!
Ouch maw that sounds painful, hope your GP can suggest effective and quick action to resolve your pain. Pain like that can feel relentless and wear you down, not what you need right now.
We’ve had another good day on our Madeira holiday and found a really good traditional place to eat tonight with great food and welcoming, friendly service. We’ll go there again I’m sure, in the meantime I’ll leave you with some photos of today’s exploring. Apologies to any I’ve missed, I’ve just run out of steam after all that walking I’ve been doing! xx
What a relief to have heard about Panache. Poor Mr P must have been desperately worried. I hope we soon get news of her rallying.
Maw, shoulder pain is miserable. I had rotator cuff tendonitis several years ago and my GP gave me a cortisone injection which worked like magic and it has given me hardly any trouble since. It's a better solution than swallowing loads of pills. So please do ask your GP for the jab.
It was very good of Mr Panache to let us know how things stand with Panache, I do so hope she will be better soon. Crossed posts by me.
Soop, get in that bed and let yourself be looked after by lovely MacSporran.Don`t worry about tomorrow`s funeral, your friend will know and understand why you aren`t there.
Ann, have another cocktail and carry on relaxing.
MawB, I hope your doctor can help you with the pain, also give you something to help you sleep.
I’m another “lurker” in the kitchen but have never posted. So sorry to hear about Panache and Soop and now MawBroon. I’ve just got a bad cold and have felt sorry for myself ... Get well soon everybody!
So many poorly Gransnetters, especially Panache who has been constantly in our thoughts (and prayers for some of us).
We need a virtual group healing session. Perhaps a nice fruit ????? basket. Marydoll do you have any of the fruit left from your Rome holiday ?
Poor Soop I hope you are feeling much better soon. I am glad to hear that we have had contact from the Panaches and I hope she will soon be stronger. Can’t believe how quickly it goes dark now!
Thank you soop for the update on panache. I do so hope she is on the mend, she is so kind and thoughtful to everyone (she sent me several supportive messages about my impending move even though she was struggling with selling her own house and also her health, which she obviously played down). Hope you will also soon be on the mend soop.
Have another cocktail ann, in my experience there is so much ice in them they are much diluted anyway! Glad you are feeling relaxed.
Sorry to hear you are in pain maw, hope the doctor can help you.
No cake I’m afraid, though I could raid the freezer, I think there is some in there somewhere. We seem to have people in and out lately, what with an electrical inspection yesterday and a visit today from a removals company to give us an estimate. I came back from holiday having a wobble about whether I really want to move. We’ve arranged another visit to the new house on Thursday to do some measuring up, that will hopefully remind me why we want to go there.
Hope all poorly and sad folk feel better soon. Better not offer
as nanny government says we should cut down.
Sending sincere commiserations Soop you sound proper poorly and I really hope this misery passes soon.
Poorl Panache our thoughts are with her and Mr Pwhile we hope for a happy outcome.
I am feeling pretty rubbish as I have what may be rotator cuff tendinitis which is more painful than most things I have known. It has been grumbling for several weeks, coming and going, but for the last three or four days the pain has been quite acute, waking me repeatedly in the night and stopping me getting back to sleep.
Last night was ridiculous, at bedtime I took 2 herbal Nytol, 2 paracetamol, a Piriton (which normally knocks me right out,) slathered my shoulder and arm with Voltarol 12 hour strength and finally had a mug of Horlicks! (I had already had my Naproxen earlier with supper and am very wary of taking too much because of my stomach.)
Short of a rubber mallet I don’t know what more I could do but I was awake by 2 and every half hour thereafter. So doctor tomorrow.
I am afraid it is making me very grumpy but I did manage to cheer up enough to take a friend out for lunch for her birthday, whose OH has Alzheimer’s and of course had “forgotten” or just doesn’t realise.
A glass of wine plus excellent fish and chips in our village pub took my mind off this wretched arm.
Can I get them on the NHS?
Oh dear soop, you sound proper poorly. Lots of honey and lemon with medicinal whiskey might help. I do understand your disappointment about your friend's funeral, please say your own goodbye at home, it does help I think.
Thank you for the news of panache, how kind of her husband to reply when he must be so worried and also exhausted. We can do no more than wish her better and send loving vibes.
When we moved to our tiny home Mr C insisted the kitchen remodelling included dishwasher space, he does sometimes put things in there
. Having said that I could live without a tumble dryer, use it once a week to fluff the towels.
Any space on that sun lounger ann? It sounds idyllic.
A very frustrating day here, so many interruptions. I've just got to the end of the tasks I began at 10am and thought I'd finish by lunch time. Am I allowed a grumble, please? Lots of family stuff going on, I am pleased they can talk to me, but did it have to be today?? Other than that all is well in our corner. Time for tea now. Mr C is supposed to be cooking, he's just mastering the art, if I don't return it could have been fatal

and
for Panache! poor MrP - he must be so worried.
soop (and MacS) thank you the update. It must be upsetting to miss saying your last goodbye to someone you obviously thought well of, but from all you said of the man I am sure he would understand and would want you to put your health first. Particularly as the weather looks to be quite unpleasant tomorrow.
I would offer chicken soup, but as this is the kitchen.....have a restorative rum baba instead!
ann .... more cocktails ate in order
So glad you are truly relaxing!
Dishwashers? I would sacrifice much to keep mine! what an amazing world we do live in now; my grandmother would have considered life today to be one of complete ease.....we have come very far from mangles, washboards, cold safes, beating rugs with brooms, and buying ice from the "ice man".
Makes you wonder why life is more stressful than ever.
Today is dull, grey, drizzly and depressing in this neck of the woods. I am contemplating lighting the first fire of the autumn. Next step is adding crumpets to the shopping list, and casseroles to the menu!
Sorry to read that you are poorly Soop I have been looking every day for news of Panache.
I am very grateful that although under the weather you have posted the update from Mr Panache.
I hope that Panache will soon be on the road to recovery.
Soop Hope your gippy tummy and cough will soon be on it's a way
Nfk being Scottish it is the cost of running a tumble drier which puts me off. Fresh air is free and in winter my clothes dry during the evening with the central heating on and the house rarely gets very cold overnight as it is well insulated.
I prefer my dishwasher.
(And a tumble drier wins hands down over a dishwasher for me!)
As an occasional lurker/snooper/eavesdropper in the kitchen, I’d like to say thank you for letting everyone know that Panache has been seriously ill. Hopefully this means that she may be less poorly soon.
And Soop, you are taking medicinal whisky for that cough I hope. It works wonders I’ve found.
You poor thing, soop. It sounds like a nasty bug you've got. Glad you're taking it easy and no doubt McS is looking after you as devotedly as ever.
ann, your break is just what the doctor didn't order! But we knew it would be a great stress-buster for you. And we are usually always right!
Many thanks soop. You have been very good to keep us up to speed. Very sad news though ?
Thank you for the news- it would appear that she is too frail for surgery. I hope that she is being cared for.
Dear Marydoll I shall get back to bed. Inactivity drives me bonkers. However...my batteries are flat. No choice in the matter.
(hug)
So sorry you are still quite poorly Soop, do Muasdale surgery do home visits, maybe you could do with one?
Shame there`s no news of Panache, hopefully no news is good news.
On pins here, we`re expecting a parcel today, daren`t go for a wee in case he comes!
Thanks Soop, for letting us know. Such sad news.
I'm sorry to hear that you are also not too well.?
News from Mr Panache. He thanks us for caring - which is greatly appreciated by them both. Panache has been seriously ill and MrPanache has been mainly with her in hospital. She is under strong medication, is very frail and cannot keep in touch with the kitchen. Huge thanks to all.
MacSporran came through to the bedroom to show me the message. I shall respond and send them both our fondest love and all good wishes.
soop bed is definitely the best place for you and hopefully you will quickly get rid of your abdominal problems but nasty coughs are a buggeration and take longer.
Ann delighted to hear you are having a very relaxing time and the girls are obviously enjoying themselves. I did say many moons ago you will be reluctant to return home.
Poor Grampy I will be keeping an eagle eye on his bank account making sure that any dubious withdrawals are stopped.
How is Sam- is he okay?
Afternoon !
Nannytopsy THAT is exactly what I need !!!
Thanks Charley that would be most useful but to be fair we have recovered our usual good humour. It didn't last long and we have come to an agreement. IF he doesn't use the dishwasher and the stacked stuff crashes to the floor he will merely hand over his credit card and I will buy a new ….and VERY expensive....dinner service ! Unsurprisingly, he put the lunch plates in the dishwasher :-)
I think we should grey!
I am thrilled to hear from Ann , as you're lying down anyway- Id have a second cocktail. I am so pleased you are enjoying your break!!
Soop luckily heaven has holes in it so people can look down so I am sure your friend will forgive you not attending his funeral. Goodbyes can be said alone as well at as funerals.
I hope you start feeling lots better soon xxx
