Our SW has just rung.
The daycare is being withdrawn from the end of October. So instead of getting 2 days a week , we will be getting none.
She is seeing if anywhere else is doing it.
My depression is deepening, I feel trapped. He has fallen 3 days out of the last 5.
He has cuts and bruises, I rang the fall team to which he was referred on Aug 30th.
Waiting list is very long so we have been referred to another agency.

Eilyann I'm pleased your grandson has been in touch - I don't think they realise how much we worry about them.

My son finally let me know he was leaving to go home to NZ today so will be well on the way now - can't help feeling sad that we never even got to talk but sure the little ones will be excited to see him tomorrow.

Here's a photo of Daph who is being such a pest attacking my hand on the desk I've given in and put her bed up here - she's was actually laid in it watching the TV at one point Charley I agree cat food is expensive especially prescription - I now buy the 48 pouch boxes which I can find for as low as £9 - they usually last the pair of them about 10 days although Alfie prefers his biscuits.

Soop I eat blueberries every day too with strawberries and grapes for breakfast - I often put cereal and yogurt with them - if I leave half of it I eat it later when the cereal has gone soggy. Cats are very clever - I'm sure they understand what we're saying to them!

The toothache has subsided a bit again but I've been careful about hot drinks - I do need to ring the dentist but have been working today so if it's still there in the morning I will make an appointment.

Isn't it disappointing to wait for something for ages only to find it doesn't work when it arrives - so annoying and now have to wait for a returns label as I'm not paying for return postage

Chilli for tea - it's been in the slow cooker since 8am so will be well and truly done by 6pm

Just getting over the quote for the car, put it this way it almost matches Tara's teeth. Can't leave it as it is so had best just grit our teeth and get on with it.

Willow I'm also partial to blueberries. I manage to eat a portion every day. Sometimes with porridge and sometimes with a natural Greek yogurt.
I sympathise with you having toothache. It really can ruin any outing. As for your husband's Sciatica, that's a buggeration of mammoth proportions.

Willow500 Our beautiful cat, Rory, understood the word Dreamies. He would head straight to the cupboard and make high-pitched noises. He was such a canny feline.

Eilyann I agree that your grandson has the decency to send a text. When he returns, I know what your reaction will be...you'll have a jolly good sob...and then you'll grin from ear to ear. Please keep in touch.

I agree with others, I hope that you and Mr. P are not struggling to the hospital daily and that you have help. One needs to be fit to visit OPD or wherever these days because of the walking involved to get from A to B.

Eilyan at least that young fellow has had the decency to text and latterly his brother but it is not the same as reappearing on the doorstep.

Willow please visit a dentist- toothache is horrid.

What a worry Eilyan you can metaphorically box his ears when he gets back and then explain to him the impact of his disappearance has had on you all.

eilyan, try not to worry. I hope you had at least some sleep. One of ours used to disappear and reappear but thankfully is a fully fledged grown up now with a good job, a lovely partner and two enormous sons of his own.

Understand your worry eilyann, hope you managed to sleep even if just a little. Waiting is horrible and as you say not knowing where he is. Contact with his brother sounds positive, chin up, here’s hoping for more news very soon.

Thank you all for your support. He's not home but he has texted again and he has been in contact with his older brother who is at University in Durham. As you'll see from the time sleep is not coming at the moment. It's the not knowing where he is and it being so unlike him. Part of me wants to give him a big hug and part of me wants to box his ears! Neither of which is easy when he's 6 foot and I'm 5ft 2in! Thank you for listening

panache I can’t say it any better than others have. Come in when you can to let us know how you are, but please don’t feel you have to “say” anything if it just saps what little strength you have to do so. There’s no chance of us forgetting you, you’ve found a place in all our hearts.

What a worry your family are having eilyann , I do hope the lad comes home safely soon. These raging teenage hormones have a lot to answer for.
corner sorry too that you’ve had that aggravation, it’s doesnt matter that it’s only a car, it’s your car and the damage is costly, getting these things repaired is tedious and such wanton disregard for the property of others is very hard to stomach.

Greyduster for a moment there I wondered if we’d actually been at the same footie match! Our gs score was very similar but he was on the winning team and scored a good goal - it has to be said only one of the many his team scored. I did feel rather sorry for the other team who I understand are on a run of substantially losing games! It was good to spend time with them all and they treated us to a lovely meal in their local Italian as I too have birthday on the horizon. I’m hoping not to get a toothbrush, I’ll settle for the old boy remembering where he’s hidden the rather nice gin glasses I steered him towards a couple of weeks ago!
That’ll be the same old boy that’s snoozing on the sofa beside me as he pretends to watch the news!

willow I hope the toothache has eased off a bit now and doesn’t keep you awake tonight. Did I hear there was someone offering to clear garages, please can I join the queue? Mine is getting more cluttered by the day, mainly due to the fact that, every time we come across something we don’t know what to to with we look at each other shrug and say “just put it in the garage for now”

Panache Echoing what Maw said about getting help to get to the hospital, when I was not well enough to take DH they sent a taxi for him because he absolutely had to be there at a particular time. If you don't ask it may not be offered and you sometimes need to be persistent. Not easy when you are not well and my tears (although involuntary) were the deciding factor in the end. Do not stifle the tears - if they come then they come.

panache so sorry to read from your post how unwell you are. It must be so tiring back and forth to the hospital. Hope you can still 'surf' the kitchen when you can and post when possible. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Panache, I can`t add anything to what has been said, can only echo it all. It is very brave of you to come on here and update us all, but please do take good care of yourself, all my best wishes to your lovely hubby as well.
Yesterday was a very wet, miserable day, so I was very pleased to open the curtains to sunshine this morning, as our family were getting together to mark David`s 2nd anniversary, actually tomorrow. We went on a trip along the River Witham on the Boston Belle, stopping at a pub near to the river for a carvery lunch, which was very good, but their roasties weren`t as good as mine, lol!
Corner, you must have been absolutely livid when you saw your car, and understandable to put it mildly. It happened to us once, a few days after getting our car, not new by any means, but the nicest one we`d ever had. We were visiting in the town where we used to live, and someone keyed it overnight, I could have cried.

Panache I do hope your DH is getting some help with taking you to the hospital every day.It is exhausting for both of you at the best of times and it would be good if you can conserve what energy you have for the important things.

Willow thanks for that. I am mesmerised by the amount of cat food for sale nowadays. I have not had to think about Tara's diet for the past 10 years + because Tara is normally on prescription food for stomach problems. She prefers the dry and there is no choice of flavours- normally she loves it and hopefully she will again when she is allowed to eat it.

I had no idea how expensive ordinary food is- I get off lightly buying her food online- around £19 which lasts 6 weeks +.

Panache I am so sorry to hear how very unwell you are. As for daily trips to the hospital I was taking DH every day for months and in our experience you will really need to be very kind to yourselves as it makes you both so very tired. We went and had our main meal in a very nice, quiet restaurant so that we never cooked because quite frankly you won't have the energy to do it yourself. It doesn't matter what you have so long as it is nourishing, preferably hot and means you are both fed. We just decided hang the cost as we needed to do it. At least that way you can get easy things for breakfast and another snack type meal.
Please know that we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

eilyann, how worrying but thank goodness the 18 year old was thoughtful enough to send a text. Do let us know that he’s back home safely.

Panache , everyone has sent lovely messages and I would just like to echo all of them. I suppose if you need daily treatment it’s better to live at home and go to the hospital for it but I really wish (as you most certainly must) that you didn’t need to go at all. Thinking of you and your wonderful husband and sending you hugs and prayers and anything that will help you both at this very hard time.

When is it greyd, promise I won’t tell anyone and will make sure there are chocolates for you here, You won’t even need a toothbrush .

Soop I can think of nothing better than having you all banging on my door! DH might panic a bit though - we lead a very quiet life!

Eilyann I do hope the young man comes home soon - I can’t imagine what you and his parents are going through. At least he had the good sense to let you know he is okay.?

Izabella I love a nice egg custard but I’ve never had one made with ducks eggs. In fact, I’ve never had a duck’s egg. I shall have to see what I’m missing sometime. For the moment I have to make do with a blueberry yoghurt.

Willow I hope you get your tooth sorted out soon - toothache is never welcome. I opened the boot of our car today and there was an electric toothbrush in a box, cunningly disguised as, well, an electric toothbrush in a box! I can only think it is for my upcoming birthday, as I have been complaining about my current one. He’s rubbish at hiding things! I suppose it would be counter intuitive to hope for a box of lovely sticky chocolates as well!

Corner sorry about your car - it happened to me some years ago and quite took the edge off the pleasure of my then new car. Some people just don't like to see others with nice things

Charley you could try Tara with one sweetie biscuit (Dreamie) just to see how she manages. She'll love you all the more I found something gross on the passage floor this morning - whatever it used to be is obviously inside a contrite Alfie who is now off his food and hiding back in the summerhouse!

I spoke too soon about the toothache which came back with a vengeance in The Range coffee shop - we'd only gone in there as Mr W's sciatica was also giving him gip so he could sit down for a bit. What a pair!

I've made a fruit salad so thought I'd share the bowl with all in the kitchen - be warned - the blueberries are a little tart

So sorry to hear about your continuing tribulations Panache and also Anne. I don't pop in the kitchen very often as like others I just cannot keep up.

Lovely day here and sheets etc. all dried plus a lovely walk but foot now playing up after uneven ground. A minor detail in the grand scheme of things. Next job folding the washing and putting all away and a roast dinner to arrive sometime later, ably prepared by Mr. Izabella.

I hope to pop back later next week with home made egg custard for anyone feeling peaky or in need of something soothing. Made with fresh duck eggs, so will be lovely and creamy.
