The baby isn't actually due until next Tuesday. I'm just over excited! Poor little chap!

Soop's super supportive kitchen.
(1001 Posts)Crumbs, opening a new kitchen is a bit of a responsibility. I hope everyone finds it - I'll just leave the door ajar.
Bubbles and cake on the side - enjoy!
A good morning to my kitchen friends
Apologising for both my absence which believe me is far from usual, and also for adding to the griping list.
Time to say it as it is.Sadly I have spent most of each day in Hospital as there is just no controlling my conditions now I am immune to all their Anti biotics.
Furthermore I have been informed, sad though it is, now no operation is on the cards these trips back and forth will become my way of life.
Suffice to say I am not happy,am very unwell and feeling like nothing on earth. Those that know me well will know this is not typical of me at all.
I am even failing to keep a daily read of life in the Kitchen although by skimming through I did note many of you are suffering various aches too,I send you all my very best and Ann you are very much on my mind.
Thanks to the dear ones that keep in contact, much appreciated though I am most times unable to say so personally.
Sincerely sorry to kick of a Sunday in this fashion.
So sad for you Panache your life is now so restricted and with feeling so ill is a dreadful downer.
I am sure you know you are in all our thoughts and we are all wishing you well.
You are still thinking of others and I hope you are able to join us in the kitchen from time to time.
You were a late but very, very welcome kitchener.
Panache, ann has said exactly what I would want to say. Visit us when you can and know we think of you often.
Panache good to hear from you but so sorry to hear that your life is so restricted now and that you feel so unwell.
I'm not a frequent popper-in to the kitchen (I find it hard to keep up
) but I know the kind kitcheners will all be here for you to support you.
I wish you well.
Best wishes are with you always Panache
It's a dreich day in bonnie Kintyre. I was hoping for another macaroon. A big ask. Not a single crumb to be seen.
Ann I am echoing all the comments made with reference to your so-called negative post. Life isn't all sweetness and light, rescued wayward pets and cuddly babies-in-waiting. We are here because we wish to support each other through the direst of events. We care. Enough said!
granniequeenie Your photographs are superb. You have a gift for composition. Thank you for sharing.
kitty I am one of the many excitipated Granspals who will gather to eat cake and slurp bubbly the moment baby decides to enter the world. A magical moment.
Dear Panache your latest news is cause for dismay. I am so sorry to hear that there appears to be no means of a satisfactory resolution to your on going health problems. It is kind of you to update us. You have a whole battalion of Granspals rooting for you and sending all wishes to both you and your dear husband.

Exactly what I would have said Maw, thankyou very much. I’m so sorry to hear this Panache but be assured we’re all thinking of you.
It’s grey here and chilly and I won’t be going out to do those gardening jobs that are piling up. I’m going away for a few days on Tuesday so that gives me one day to do the shopping, washing, ironing (or maybe not!), gardening, packing. Maybe I will wrap up get myself out to the garden after all. ?
Overthehills My advice...delegate, or, as MacSporran suggests...rationalise. In other words, do as much or as little as you see fit. Simples.
So sorry,Panache to hear that you have to go to and from the hospital daily. That must be so wearing for you and also for your wonderful husband.
ann, sometimes you have to be grateful for small mercies. In my experience there are some men who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the kitchen and perhaps yours would have been one of those and knew it in his heart. I know he had plenty of other talents. Anyway, if you want to 'moan' to us, feel free. It doesn't do to keep it all to yourself and we have broad backs - if somewhat stiff!
kitty, babies can't be hurried! If your GC isn't due till Tuesday, don't hold your breath. My GC were all late except the one that was a planned section!
It's been a sunny morning and I have ventured out into the garden - sum total of all my efforts so far: one large tub of peony tulips which I love and long to see them in the spring. My problem is that my hands get so cold I have to keep coming in to warm them up.
Panache, the others have said so well, what I wanted to say.
Sending love panache, to you and your husband. I hope there continue to be things, no matter how small, that warm your heart.
Just back from a food shop upset and in a tearing temper. Someone has scratched the width of a door to the metal. Goodness knows what the cost will be but thinking of panache and others here with greater worries I’m ashamed of my reaction, well over reaction. I’m off to tidy some cupboards, restore order where I can.
Take care everyone.
Panache I will join Corner and all, in saying that I hope there will be some light in your life despite the tribulations your illness is forcing on you. I send you and Mr P kind thoughts always.
The sun is shining here, but the wind is very cold - and I went to the football. Stupid woman, but I wanted to see my Grandson as I owed him some sponsor money for a charity run he did and of course, it absolutely could not wait until tommorrow, could it??♀️ The fresh air probably did me some good, but I was as stiff as a board by the end. The referee blew his whistle ten minutes early (never known it) as the score by that time had reached 14-0 to us and the other side had their chins properly on the floor. I wish I hadn’t gone - a whitewash for whichever side is not a pleasant thing to watch.
Corner I’m sorry about your car. I know there are worse things to worry about, but few things infuriate me more than that! As you say, expensive. We have a scar on our rear door where someone has obviously been careless with a supermarket trolley; it couldn’t have been anything else. One has to be sanguine I suppose.
Our rear courtyard is littered with plumbing detritus which needs to go to the tip. I can think of things I would sooner look out on that a redundant close coupled toilet, a sink and a load of old pipes! Perhaps I should plant the toilet up with bulbs for next Spring? What do you think? No, me neither!
OMG corner that is horrendous. Was it the supermarket beginning with S which has narrow parking areas. I agree, the cost will be large and a buggeration, the only light is that their car will have similar damage. You can well do without that expense whether insurance helps or not, you and Mr.C will still be the losers.
I thought I had lost it mentally this pm. leaving the house around lunchtime and meandering around M&S food store after picking up my new trousers. I glanced at the clock and it said 4pm I thought where has the day gone and it is too late to hang out the washing.
I discovered when I went to my next supermarket what the correct time was and it was not even 2pm so the clock was obviously having a holiday.
Every time I come in the front door Tara thinks it is another mealtime- how wrong she is. The sooner she is back on her dry food and can graze 24/7 the better. Her wet food is costing me a small fortune, next weekend cannot come soon enough.
Thanks greyd, equanimity almost restored. This was deliberate, a key, couldn’t have been anything else. I just don’t understand why. Not envy as it’s a very mundane car. People eh?
Hope you’ve got warm now and no harm to your back. Agree it’s uncomfortable watching that level of defeat. Sounds a sensible referee.
Right, another cupboard
.
Come and do mine when you run out of cupboards! They are truly disgraceful
!
Oh corner I thought that it was another car and not a key- that makes it ten times worse. I am so sorry to hear that. I would not be responsible for my actions if I caught the blighter.
Greyd can we form an orderly queue please? Mine are clean, they need to be totally re-arranged.
You can bring up the rear then, Charley as mine are filthy AND need to be totally rearranged! ?
Sorry you two, I’m all out of energy for cupboards. Resorting to catchup tv now
.
That is a buggeration, corner! Apart from the cost it's the inconvenience of having it sorted isn't it though, last time someone drove into DH's car (honest, they did) they did it on the drive! The things they can do!!
Could you manage our garage after your cupboards please? DH seems to have ground to a halt!!
He has a cold as, previously mentioned, and is actually quite poorly. He has managed to stagger to the playroom to sit under a blanket and watch the football but is coughing and spluttering away like mad. I have absolutely no patience and am in awe of people like Ann who cope all the time. And, I had to empty the dishwasher and open the curtains this morning!
Charley that must have been very discombobulating!
Still no baby! DD's previous 2 were very early and a bit early respectively, anno, and she has been 80% engaged for about a fortnight - I suppose it can't be much longer. Hey ho!!
So sorry panache and ann to hear of your problems. I second everything that has been said and
to you both.
Can I share a
worry too? Yesterday evening DGS2 (18) after row with parents, left in car and hasn't yet returned. He has texted to say he's fine but this is so uncharactaristic DD and SIL - and we - are out of our minds with worry, as you can imagine, and just longing for phone to ring.
A parents (and GP) worst nightmare eilyann but at least he has texted to put your minds slightly at rest.
My own S was a rebel and gave us some anxious moments so I can sympathise,
I hope you get good news soon.
eilyann I too would be desperate for news. Poor parents and grandparents. Nothing will seem right until that very special phone call is made. Please keep us updated. I hope that by bedtime there is good news and smiles all round.
corner Buggerations unlimited. What type of person derives pleasure/satisfaction from damaging a stranger's property. Diabolical!
kitty please be kind to your husband. If he has the virus that knocks the stuffing out of one, he's proper poorly and will be feeling like death warmed up as my late Nana would say.
Charleygirl I would so enjoy looking after Tara for you. Pussy cats cost us dear. However, they are worth every penny spent to keep them healthy and happy.
Greyduster Spoken like a champion Grannie. Bless you. Feet up and stay warm. Or else you'll have us lot banging on your door. You wouldn't want that,, would you?
anno No matter how warm the weather, the tip of my nose, fingers and toes remain cold.
Marydoll Lovely of you to pop in. Did you bring cake? Maybe next time.
I often think of the fun we had at the do in Edinburgh. That poor, unsuspecting Santa. He's still having therapy. Or so I believe.
I shall log off until tomorrow. Thank you all for your company.
