I'm logging off on main computer. Tonight I shall scroll through the Kindle and attempt to access the sites that I deem worthwhile : Gransnet and Facebook are the most important to me.
MacSporran is to do the shopping tomorrow and visit the care home. I shall spend a quiet day catching up with jobs aboot the hoos.

NEWS of Panache
Dear Mr Panache emailed to say that Panache is home but still poorly. She's to see the consultant next week. Will then have a better idea of what treatment she's to have. She is very upset because she has Macular disease in both eyes. She wishes to thank all her Gransnet friends for all their concern and kind thoughts. At some time, she will hope to respond. I replied to Mr Panache's message and sent our very best wishes and love to both of them. 
A nice young lady persuaded me to buy a coconut cake for £1 in our local bakers this morning so I thought I'd bring it in and offer it round to everyone in the kitchen this afternoon. I don't normally 'do' cake but thought Mr W would like a slice or two.
Hope you're not in too much pain GD - you do feel so stupid when you fall like that - I'm so clumsy I can trip o'er nowt as they say 
N&G love your bags - someone in the US once made me a bag like that with a fairy on it and my name - I've still got it.
Hope all those feeling the need for duvet days have managed to have one - it's now pouring down here and very dark - just the type of weather for hunkering down and staying under cover.
I'm now feeling very fed up - just received a speeding notice in the post - the first in 40 years of driving. Ironically in all those years I've had several high powered cars and never been done - now I've a tiny car with a 1000cc engine and get caught! No excuses - my fault entirely 
Think I probably need a stiff drink - I've just seen something 'crawling' over the desk - it was the wire from the mouse. Good job I didn't hit it with a book. Better go and clean my lenses!

To all of you who are under the weather (or duvet!) take care and rest up. I’m bring in some apricot and ginger flapjack, and custard tarts for those with sore throats.
Thanks Callgirl but you will be proud of me when you hear that I rang today and made an appointment for my hair. Admittedly it was forced on me after catching a glimpse in a shop window of an oul biddy with salt and pepper hair who looked as if she’d be pulled through a hedge backwards. Several times ... Unfortunately I couldn’t get an appointment with my usual hairdresser so now I have the added trauma of going to somebody completely new! 
You will be very welcome Nannyali and grated cheese would be a lovely addition.
I have to confess that I need to throw some clothes on as Himself has said lunch in a quarter of an hour. T'was not a brilliant night here either, that's my excuse!

May I respectfully recommend Gaviscon for nannyali to mitigate the “strong wind” ?

Morethan your resilience puts me to shame - long may you be able to keep going like this, but be kind to yourself too. Soop I am so glad you seem to be on the mend - don’t overdo things though.
A near neighbour died in the local hospice yesterday. His wife and I used to sometimes find ourselves together in the Costa coffee shop at MK hospital last year when his cancer was diagnosed.
He has had 9 months more than they at first said, but it was so hard to smile and keep sounding positive when she and I met on evening dog walks after he came home and his wife was clinging to the hope of chemotherapy despite the fact that the disease had spread to his liver, lungs, bone, basically everywhere. All I could think at the time (which was shortly after Pawdied) was that she was likely to be in my shoes before too long. But we her friends shared her joy when he seemed to be responding initially.
Life is a bitch isn’t it?
Perhaps it was thinking about them and memories flooding back, but I had a truly awful night, eventually falling asleep just before 7 and woke up again at quarter to 10??
Anyway, all is much better now and perhaps the one consolation of being on my own is that a “duvet morning” affects no one but myself.

granniequeenie I am such an old fashined fart. I preferred the "olden days" when one would exchange letters and talk on the proper phone...four pennies in the slot etc. If I master the gadget that is smirking at me as I type, you lot will be the first to know.
Synonymus I like lentil soup. Good for one. Pity that he gives me appalling wind.
