Well it s healing but in my completely unprofessional opinion it’s healing with an infection it is very red around it and I personally think your pharmacist has been a bit negligent in telling you it’s ok it doesn’t look that ok to me

Ah ha. Having seen the picture I am thinking it may be an infected spider bite and that the Hotter thing is a red herring.

i just spoke with my daughter, and where we are (Ontario, Canada) It is actually against regulations for a pharmacist to diagnose. Then I showed her the picture , and she said that if that was on her foot she would def be heading to the doctor, or even a walk in clinic or Emerg department of the hospital as it can turn very quickly into a more severe situation. Again, sorry for the Nagging

I m with a Gramma here yes probably a friction burn but in that photo it looks like an infected friction burn to me the skin is very red around it and a little puckered an infection can turn to cellulitis very quickly Do get another opinion

at the risk of sounding a bit nagging.. your pharmacist is NOT a doctor! I say that with respect to pharmacists as my eldest child IS one lol. Please still see a doctor. Hope it heals soon and it really is just a friction burn, but be safe and get it checked by a doctor

Missadventure our doc opens for emergency appointments on a Saturday morning are you sure yours doesnt if not do you have a walk in medical centre anywhere near by or failing that maybe ring 111 for some help it’s obviously needing antibiotics sooner rather than later

Isn't it all a pain not being able to get an appointment for days on end!
My doc opened on a Saturday for a while, but I think it was just that there was a backlog to catch up on.

Pretty sure it’s looking infected so definitely will need anti biotics

Re cellulitis if you get it once it can come back. This is my third time.
It sounds faintly amusing, orange peel skin etc ha ha, but it’s not funny and must be taken seriously.

This looks like cellulitis to me. You need to see a doctor in the morning, and get antibiotics. Please don't wait any longer than that.

It does look sore. If the red bit around the outside of the wound starts to increase in size mark the diameter with a Biro. If it stays the same then you are probably ok. If it gets bigger seek medical help.
I would Photo mine but it’s hiding under one of my tummies so a bit awkward. Am hoping I won’t need to go fir a third round of anti biotics. Take care.

MissA go ahead and post a picture. My DH has had cellulite in his knee recently. I know exactly what it looks like. I have also nursed people with pressure ulcers so I'm very familiar with those too.
