Hardback novels always appearing at this time of year!

Always happens - the latest so often come out in hardback before Christmas. Now and then I pick up a £4 paperback in the supermarket - noticed the other day that they're now nearly all hardbacks at £10 odd - inc. a John Grisham I'd have bought otherwise.
It's not just the money. I hate hardbacks - they're too heavy to read in bed!
