I've only just discovered this thread, but was drawn to Grandad1943's comments, maybe because he'd made such bizarre attestations on another thread.
The name Gransnet, an offshoot of it's larger sister Mumsnet, may well be outdated in his view of an all encompassing world, but whilst both sites run conversational threads that cover a gamut of subjects that pertain to what is happening in the world, as their name suggests they were also conceived with women in mind. Women who sometimes want to come together to exchange experiences on physical conditions such as the menopause, periods, childbirth etc. etc. None of us want to see men precluded from GN, however, I for one am fed up with this current trend of being asked to redefine ourselves "Cis" women to give an example, to fit in with the wishes of those who aren't women.
As for misandry, being the mother of sons yes I'm well aware that it exists, it's not great and I have taken exception to ads in the past that seek to portray men as inept, but compared to the misogyny aimed at women and what some women in the world have to endure, it's small potatoes. I really think it's a bit weird that a man would come on to a site such as GN and trawl through various threads, particularly if they are intended to be light hearted spirit and then chide the participants for their contributions accusing them of misandry. No wonder we now have the word "mansplaining"
