The best gadgets you have bought this year

Could those of you who love your soup makers please tell us what brands you've bought? I've been thinking of getting one but would like some recommendations.

Actifry, omlete maker and soup maker.

The best thing in my kitchen is the boiling water tap. It's not the all singing-all dancing mega expensive brand. It just delivers near boiling water instantly. I'd never go back to waiting for a kettle to boil.

We bought a Waterpick Flosser on the recommendations of friends and I love it.

My kindle. Although I love actual books (I was a library assistant for 15 years) I certainly think my Kindle has a place. Its small enough to go into my handbag and so I always have an extensive collection of books if I am travelling or away from home.

a yogurt maker that makes a pint of yogurt at a time and a wood engraver. The soup maker I bought doesn't seem to work very well.

I'm not a gadget person, but I really love my new citrus zester! About £7, and makes it so much quicker and easier. Dh might just get a lemon meringue pie more than once a year now. It was great for the Chr. puds - zest of 2 lemons and 2 oranges.

As I posted elsewhere, dh recently bought an electric window washer - brilliant, esp. since he then cleaned all the windows.

Soup maker and a cordless shark!! Both brilliant. I suppose I could include a very expensive embroidery machine

best gadget if you drive ,a head up display for the car , shows speed right in front of your eye line, also shows time etc .you can set it simply to other settings such as stance between igniion switch on cost about £30 exelvan on ebay .
also chrome cast device about £25 if you use a tablet etc can without wires stream anything on tablet, + if you use catch up TV or BBC Iplayer etc you can do the same watch when you want very useful

Soup maker - definitely the best present I was ever given

A new vacuum cleaner to replace my 32 year old one. The new one is as light as air and empties without needing paper bags. We bought an upright and hand held in one deal and the hand held is fabulous for the stairs. My DH and I now squabble about vacuuming!

got an ipad from the charity shop i voulnteer at. grandchildren loves it . bot it was only £5 as its not quite right. i would NOT splash out on any gadget.....i dont have the money anyway

A slow cooker. Also replaced my old bread maker.

A great Knife Sharpener, so good that I have bought Dd and Ds one each as part of their Christmas presents.

A soup maker, a Bissell electric floor washer/cleaner, an Actifry, a robot vacuum cleaner, which we call Robin because it is round - and probably best of all an apple slicer from Lakeland. We seem to have spent an awful lot on gadgets, but they were all replacements to make our lives easier or healthier.

Ann electric can opener and a slow cooker changed my life this year. How sad is that?

Well Grandad if everyone had that attitude, we wouldn't be using Vacuum cleaners, we could still beat our rugs with a beater

Grandad1943, the last time I mowed the grass I cut through the cable..... Since then, DH has done it, but only when he feels like it

Esspee, you could get out there and mow the grass yourself.

A slow cooker

An electric mini chopper. Makes short work of all sorts of fruit, veg, nuts, etc.

An air fryer. We bought one about a week ago and it's been brilliant so far. Not expensive either.

A potato peeler that works L or R handed so everyone is pleased.
