just been in DD2skitchen , a trio of DDs and one sonIL cooking this evenings meal ! retreated in here for a bit think I have a migraine coming on , eyes going funny ... sigh ... hope all is improved with the Panaches see you later
I have dared to post outside the kitchen but it is so much nicer in here! We too are having a quiet New Year with some nice steak and a decent bottle of red. (Quiet except for the coughing - we are both at it!) The granddog will need keeping calm when the fireworks start - they do like their fireworks round here! I wish everyone the best possible 2019. It may be the year we move!
I hope the Panaches are ok this morning, and as it is a "normal" working day help is on the way.
Wishing all my newly found virtual friends a happy, healthy and wealthy 2019. May all your troubles be solvable.
We are on babysitting duty this evening, so a quiet one for us, I shall stay awake to see the fireworks on my own (Mr GG13 is not a late night person anymore).
Slipping quietly back in to sit beside the Aga. Actually not true. You can still hear my wheezing. I can talk in sentences now at least, but then the cough starts. Oh joy!! It is a quiet NYE for us but I just wanted to let kitcheners know I am thinking of you all, and hope that 2019 brings in (cross out as appropriate) more solace/support/better health/hope/relief from pain and reduction of stress and so on. The list could go on as so many have written of problems during the year.
Of those who speak of joy and contentment, may they radiate towards all in the kitchen and wider world.
Feelingmyage55, I agree with you that it's usually impossible to be discharged from hospital without being signed off by a doctor. I once had to wait hours for the sister to track down the registrar to discharge me when there was someone quite clearly waiting for my bed to be vacated. I can't see how poor Mr P slipped through that net. Thank goodness we have so many caring people in the 'kitchen' as some threads 'out there' have become too abrasive for my delicate sensibilities . ann, if I were you (which I'm not - you are far more tolerant), I'd be on to the manager of H's care home asking for the night staff to be more fully informed about the ongoing treatment for his urinary problem. Good night all.
Well I don't wish to condone your bad behaviour so I may have to withdraw my offer. So get thee back, wench, to the place of debauchery and seek support from those who frequent that den of iniquity. And so to bed! (Mine own place of repose!)
mcem if time is running out, maybe a quick trip to a couple of supermarkets for cardboard boxes. At least they are easily replaced if the nappies are not up to standard.
Mary.....it’s going to be like a scene from Alien! Eeek. 14 now? I have prepared a big cardboard box in The Argy cellar for you, and Big Jim is standing by with hot water and towels.
Right my kitchen pals behind the sofa, fear not I am here armed with my latest batch of scones and a catapult ?. This latest batch may be the hardest yet (they are scones but I think rock cakes might be a better name for them ) just tell me where to point them.
panache there are so many kind souls here who would love to be able to help you. I understand about privacy and not wanting to cause extra stress for your DH but please take any help you can. We all care about you both.
Sorry so much going on over Christmas I can’t mention all the newcomers by name but you will get a warm welcome in the kitchen. (I promise I won’t make you eat my scones, I’ll pop out tomorrow for some shop bought goodies ). Sleep well one and all
When do you need them mary? Did the scan spot 13 or can you pin down a date when they 'happened'? Am in middle of a shawl and a pram blanket for DS's first in April. However I am an amazing knitter so will do all 12 tomorrow. Assorted colours??
