Feelingmyage.... you had me at dolly mixtures !!!

Feelingmyage55 Sun 30-Dec-18 19:21:32

Squeezing in behind the sofa too.
Serious question - in Scotland after discharge from hospital a letter goes to the gp who usually visits or at least phones the patient or relative/carer. Is this UK wide? I don’t think the Panaches would have slipped past the medics in such a poor way in Scotland. Once the Panaches have been given real life help, I would like to know if we could check up on this and maybe effect some positive change if necessary.
Skulking behind the sofa with comforting supplies of old fashioned and nostalgic sweeties; chocolate buttons, dolly mixtures and sherbet dabs. Reminding myself “if you have nothing nice to say, better say nothing at all”.

Not even charity shops will sell 13 of anything Marydoll.

Ah Maw, who have you upset now? I have stayed well clear so I missed that barb. Please go and stroke Hattie, she deserves love and attention.

Chewbacca Sun 30-Dec-18 18:57:55

I'm an excellent knitter Marydoll but I'm not volunteering to knit 13 of anything!

Marydoll Sun 30-Dec-18 18:51:08

Depends on what your take on my wanton behaviour is. grin I'm quite proud of myself, I'm aiming for the Guinness Book of Worlsd Records.

Are you any good at knitting? That crowd in Argie are useless and I need THIRTEEN wooly vests pronto!

Alygran Sun 30-Dec-18 18:49:39

Hello everyone. Just having a very nice G and T. Would anyone else like one? Pretty scary out there on the forums. Why not be nice to each other or has goodwill gone already? Having a few days at home relaxing with DD2 before returning to Derbyshire for Grandma detail in the new year.
Aysgarth falls yesterday and Sutton Bank today. Balm for the soul.
Wishing everyone a quiet Sunday evening.

Chewbacca Sun 30-Dec-18 18:48:19

Need you ask NanandGrampy? Naughty, of course! grin

NanaandGrampy Sun 30-Dec-18 18:46:31

Marydoll Sun 30-Dec-18 18:44:48

Lisagran Sun 30-Dec-18 18:35:20

Thank you for the welcome soop smile. I should have said hello myself, instead of just wandering in! Hope you are all having a good evening.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 30-Dec-18 17:48:07

Nandalot Sun 30-Dec-18 17:14:47

Soop, what was the spooky drama and what was it on? Hoping it’s available on catch up.

EllaKeat Sun 30-Dec-18 16:56:14

Oh Soop, it IS with lime ?

I intend to have a Black Russian on NYE - just discovered them, and they are delicious! Well worth a try ?

Working very hard at the moment to finish the After 8's. DH is diabetic, so I consider it a kindness!

soop Sun 30-Dec-18 16:11:57

Synonymous 'plastic face'...Yay! I wear one of those on very special occasions.
It will be for the best when your husband's procedure is dealt with and he can look forward to a new lease of life. This must be a very difficult time for both of you. You have both been very brave and uncomplaining. May 2019 be extra kind to you.

I shall log off. Prepare Tabitha's chalet just in case she puts in an appearance. After which, I shall read the Sunday paper and count down the minutes until my six o'clock G&T.

Sunday evening best wishes to you lovely lot and thank you for your company. smile moon

Synonymous Sun 30-Dec-18 16:00:02

Have been incredulous at ann's revelations about the care home, common sense seems to be distinctly lacking. You should not have your much needed rest disturbed ann.!
As for the Panaches I am in bits for them and so wish I could do something, anything!
So many new names/faces that I can't remember now but welcome one and all!smile
Glad to hear your chocs have found a new home soop! smile So pleased to be a part of your kitchen too and to not be in argy bargy land.

DD feeling better today after her bout of tonsilitis, poor thing was very unwell. So far DH and I have steered clear of àny infection and long may that continue. Himself is not too good as he has been on his feet too long and is in awful pain so really hope that the hospital will be quick on the next appointment for the next stage. I think the reality is sinking in for him and feel that the sooner the better is the best way forward.
I have been well supplied with G&T before lunch and some really nice wine with our meal so have ended up with what I call a 'plastic face'. Now DD has said she must take me for a walk so it must be obvious - ooh dear! I am very relaxed anyway! grin
Looks as if we are off now so will be back later - probably tomorrow.

Charleygirl5 Sun 30-Dec-18 15:59:32

N&G I sincerely hope you are looking after Sam and that Hattie is having sufficient rest. She, like Tara, needs her sleep. Tara stayed indoors yesterday and has again today. The bully boy was sniffing around the front door on Friday so that may be the reason.

soop Sun 30-Dec-18 15:50:02

Did any of you watch the new drama on television last night? I thought it exceedingly spooky. Talk about things that go bump in the night...hmm

soop Sun 30-Dec-18 15:45:46

/EllaKeat Enjoy your G&T. Is it with lemon or lime? I prefer the latter. I shall raise my glass to you at six o'clock sharp. Slainte! As they say in Scotland.

N&G Rest assured. Us lot *know beyond a shadow of doubt that you are a sincere, kind, caring lady. flowers How are the lads?

Lisagran Have I welcomed you to the kitchen? If not, I'm doing so right this minute.

Lisagran Sun 30-Dec-18 15:30:55

EllaKeat grin

NanaandGrampy Sun 30-Dec-18 15:30:43

eilyann Sun 30-Dec-18 15:29:58

Panache so glad to hear from you - you can see how worried we have all been - and I haven't been here that long! Hang in there but don't forget where we are!

EllaKeat Sun 30-Dec-18 15:27:23

The rest of GN site has driven me to an early g&t, so have made a New Years resolution to just stay here, quietly in the corner, peeking out at you all if that is okay?
