Good morning from a mild looking Staffs. A Happy Christmas to all and safe journeys too. Conscious of all those bereaved and/or alone.
DH has hernia surgery on 27th-can’t come soon enough although, understandably, he’s apprehensive.

Anniebach Mon 24-Dec-18 08:48:00

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Younger granddaughter calling today, love her visits, chatter and laughter and company,

Hope everyone has a good day x

Cold and dry here this morning. Off to see my beautiful sister this morning for a coffee and a little bit of 'us' time.Lots to talk about as always and there may be a tear or two as we remember our loved ones no longer with us. MY oldest brother calling in later this evening for a bite to eat and a catch up on family news. DH waiting at home(hardship....NOT smile) to wait for the boilerman as the heating and hot water are no more due to a fault that occured yesterday. Merry Christmas everyone.

Morning to all from the frosty Scottish Borders. I've been enjoying reading your messages while drinking my morning tea. Present wrapping and making stuffing (peeling chestnuts) for me. Out tonight to sing carols around our European neighbours' tree.

Good morning All x
A bit of fog first thing but cleared now and so far bright.

Showered and ready for the onslaught at M&S for salads and fresh stuff and whatever else I " don't need ". Turkey thawed and ready for a long slow cook to make sure !

Finish wrapping toys for all the kiddies who I hear are all going to bed early tonight ! Yeeesssss, I'm sure .We'll see.

Take great care everyone and good health to you all this Christmas Eve.

BlueSapphire - flowers

Dry, mild and calm here on Welsh border. May stay with DD2 tonight to be there in morning when children open presents if OH feeling able to cope with a different bed etc. Otherwise we will have quiet day here and go over tomorrow.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day and safe journeys of you are setting off somewhere.

Good Morning everyone! Late up this morning after a disjointed night. More a series of naps than a sleep. Hey ho.

I did the ham yesterday and it is delicious. We shall have more today and as the Christmas trifle was also made and sampled (yum), it's an easy food day for us. Tomorrow we are at DDs and then on Thursday off to stay with DS.

DSiL will be here soon to collect the bike which is DGS's main present tomorrow from Father Christmas so I have scooted round after my ablutions to be ready.

I hope there is a good day in store for us all and I wish all GNs a Very Happy Christmas. tchsmile

Good morning, better night and woke up feeling more human. DH has just returned from the shops where he got the last minute food.
Hopefully a quiet day in the house, cooking turkey so that we can have cold cuts on boxing day.
Wishing all a peaceful Christmas and safe journey to those travelling.

Good Morning to all from a very cold and frosty Fife, looks very festive outside. Up later today, couldn't sleep last night too many things in my head. Up now and raring to go, still have one or two things around the house to do. Excitement is setting in. Off to DD's for Christmas time and DGS1 is 2.5 and is getting excited about Santa, can't wait to see his little face. I hope everyone has a a good Christmas Eve day. Keep smiling tchsmile

GrannyGravy13 Mon 24-Dec-18 08:17:02

Happy Christmas Eve ???

Ham has just gone in the oven, going to local butchers to pick up Turkey in a moment. We are going to youngest sons tomorrow with daughter and GC so the little ones will have fun playing.

Really missing my dear Mum, this is our second Christmas without her and it doesn’t get any easier.

Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas time.

Happy Christmas Eve Annieb ???????

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey, dry corner of Somerset. Last minute faffing, collecting a friend from a motorway service station then settling down for a fairly relaxed Christmas Eve. Safe travels everyone.

I’ve put Jelly in my pork pie, this morning, made the bread sauce and assembled the pigs in blankets. Now it’s final wrapping and cleaning. All the children live at home still and no grandchildren yet but all the in-laws are over tomorrow for lunch. DD and I will go to midnight mass tonight.
Tomorrow we will raise a glass to absent friends and family no longer with us, both my parents and my MIL.
The happiest possible Christmas to all Gransnetters.

Greyduster Mon 24-Dec-18 08:06:51

Good morning, Michael and all GNs on Christmas Eve! DH has an early blood test this morning, and I have all my usual last minute culinary preparations, but this is also my time for listening to some glorious music, reading and thinking about what Christmas means, and remembering those no longer here to share it with us. Safe journeys to those travelling, and a happy day to all.

oldgaijin Mon 24-Dec-18 08:00:35

Good morning all from a dreich Buckinghamshire. Had my first taste of the M25 yesterday...an accident caused horrendous tailbacks and we never got to our intended destination.
Last present wrapping today while grandkids are at Daddy's work then help to make salmon terrine for twenty three for tomorrow's starter...a doddle!
Happy Christmas Eve a'body.

Good morning it is dry here in London. Mum got home at 9.30am yesterday morning so we could leave with a good conscience.

Travelling to Brighton today with DD and DSiL to visit DS and DDiL and DCG for Christmas.

Humbertbear Mon 24-Dec-18 07:42:07

Good morning everyone. We are usually away for Christmas but decided to stay home this year as mum isn’t very well. Off to our son and DiL for brunch.

NfkDumpling Mon 24-Dec-18 07:39:45

Morning All

Overcast and dank here in the north of Norfolk. Himself says he’s shopping and cooking for Boxing Day when we’ve got 2/3 of the family here. I’ll probably do a bit of cleaning to look as if I’m doing my bit, but really have nothing to do!

Beechnut Mon 24-Dec-18 07:30:15

Good morning all.
I was very busy all day yesterday and have woken later today.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas. ?
Our laughter and the tears we shed are all part of who we are and what we do, loved ones carried forever in our hearts. ?

ninathenana Mon 24-Dec-18 07:22:54

Morning all.

Frosty in Kent this morning. I have to see the nurse for a BP check this morning, bad timing or what tchsmile Then pop to the bakers. I'll be boiling the ham this afternoon and prepping veg.
Safe journey to those travelling away.

Good morning from a mild, dry Colchester. DH has just left to pick up DGS as his parents are working today, nursery is closed and the trains are replaced by buses.
We will be spending the evening in the pub with family and friends.

Good Morning on a mild Christmas Eve in the Black Country.

All quite here, Partners twin daughters stayed the night, and Partner is working from home today, so he is having a little lie in!

Will make them a cooked breakfast, then they will be off to their Mums.

May have a stroll into town later, then just relax and watch a Christmas film this afternoon.

Gentle hugs for BlueSapphire flowers

Have a lovely day everyone.

DoraMarr Mon 24-Dec-18 07:08:26

Good morning Micheal, Anniebach and all to come from a damp, dark but mild Birmingham. Up too early after a rather restless night. Travelling to London later this morning to spend Christmas with my second daughter, her husband and my little granddaughter.
Bluesapphire, I hope you have a good Christmas. My father died on Dec11th four years ago, so this time of year is always poignant. Good wishes to all who are remembering loved ones today.

Alygran Mon 24-Dec-18 07:08:21

Good morning everyone.
Still dark here and up unusually early. Off to DDs today to join in the festivities. Time to put a brave face on!
Hope the day is good and happy Christmas to all.

Marydoll Mon 24-Dec-18 07:06:44

Good morning all from a freezing foggy, Glasgow. I can't see the other side of the street. confused
DS1 coming to pick me up early to go to the butcher's to collect the turkey and then pick up last minute groceries.
We had a lovely family lunch in Glasgow yesterday and a walk around the Christmas market . It was very crowded, in fact too crowded!
I hope today isn't too stressful for everyone. Have a good CHristmas Eve. ?⛄

kittylester Mon 24-Dec-18 07:06:06

Morning all from a dark and mild North Leicestershire.

Final bit of packing, breakfast and the off up North. DH and I have never been away to a(n) hotel for Christmas before - hope it's not a huge mistake.
