Good Morning , and a Happy New Year to everyone.
Its dark, but looks mild , do not know whether its a good sign but there's a black cat on the lawn outside my flat.

Happy New Year everyone! It's sunny and mild here in Newcastle upon Tyne. The first bird I saw on the bird-feeder this morning was a sweet little wren. I'm about to pack the dessert to take to my daughter's at the coast (SIL doing a roast) and I'll swing by my Dad's care home on the way. Sadly, he is too frail to join us for NY lunch.

Good morning everybody and Happy New Year from a rather dull north Shropshire.First time of posting on this thread but hoping if I can start to socialise on gransnet I may eventually pluck up the courage to socialise in the big wide world!

Good morning GNs from sunny Morecambe Bay here in Lancashire. A dry day which is OK for hanging out washing.

Happy New Year everyone, a newcomer to gransnet and only posted occasionally but everyone seems so friendly so hope to be braver from now on. Very wet here in Shropshire,we only recently moved here so really need to get out and make some new friends but it seems scary joining new groups . New Year resolution to venture to the local knit and natter as a start and see how it goes. Our 47th Wedding Anniversary today so might have a celebratory drink later.

Hi all I am new to this but as I post the sun is shining but we are expecting things to change as we await the first cyclone of the season with the monsoon trough. We are in Australia - Far North and its quite normal at this time of year. We will bunker down and hope to be online tomorrow,
Happy New Year all.

Hello and best wishes to you all for 2019. Having seen the new year in jigging away to the madness set on tv, we have a promise to my brother's Labrador of a long beach walk beside Alnmouth. It is a glorious sunny day.

Good afternoon, and a very happy new year to you all.
Welcome, too, to the newbies. I hope you will keep posting on the good morning thread, and dip a toe into others, too. smile.
I’ve been up a while, but feel a bit lazy, and as I type, I’m sipping a lemsip as my threatening cold has now broken.

It looks a lovely bright day outside, so after I’ve drunk the lemsip, May wrap up and go for a walk. Seems too nice to stay cooped up.

We had friends with us last night for supper and to see the New Year in, which was lovely. Didn’t hear as many fireworks as in past years, perhaps the novelty is waning a bit.

Enjoy the rest of the day. smile

Happy New Year all. I've posted a few times on other threads- first time posting on this one, although have loitered a few times here!
Taken most of the decs down today, just the tree to do tomorrow. Having a lazy rest of the day at home I think.

Brunette10 I agree with you as regards BBC's Scottish Hogmanay - it was dire. I gave up and switched over to BBC Alba, which I was recording anyway as a friend told me about it last year, where they were doing it as a Scottish Hogmanay should be. I thought there was something for everyone and okay it's in Gaelic which I don't speak but the subtitles were there but you don't need them for the music!! Recording also gives you the option of buzzing past the stuff that doesn't interest you!

Legs55 Tue 01-Jan-19 16:03:11

Woke up to dark but dry (6.10am), had to go out to get newspaper this morning as no delivery, didn't come light until 7.45. Lazy day although I spent some time in the garden late morning, lovely in sunny Devon.

Maw Broom please let me know if you enjoyed the film, l have seen the trailer and thought the film looked totally not true or what l think was true for Queen Anne and Sarah Churchill.

Happy New Year to all

As per usual it's late afternoon before I get round to Gransnet. It's blowing a gale here, quite literally, and there are heavy showers of rain as well.

Happy New Year to you all.

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.
