After a month of Xmas songs/entertainment in the home where I work, a substandard Xmas day, much flu carrying me through a family get together I had a day today I dream of. Big roast, family walk, two grandchildren loving my Christmas decs, much laughter and two special kiddies making it perfect, many photos but lovely relaxed atmosphere. They have gone now and left a lovely mess but I've had the best day

Thanks ladies, I know it's not the same for all and I don't mean to gloat but these days I grab the good days and am just finishing of the port as it happens!

Sounds perfect Menopaws now for a rest, glass of wine and reflect on a lovely day.

Quite right Menopaws! It's good to recognise the good days when they are happening rather than in retrospect. It's a lovely memory for everyone too.

Perfect day Menopaws. Feet up, port in hand and wallow in a contented glow. Best to round it off by leaving the mess until tomorrow?

farview Sun 06-Jan-19 21:26:51

Witzend Sun 06-Jan-19 21:56:29

Lovely, Menopaws! What a brilliant way to spend the 6th January, nice and cheerful, when so many people are taking the decorations down and it's back to dreary old January.

dragonfly46 Sun 06-Jan-19 22:57:43

How lovely. Perfect boost to get you through January!

Sounds lovely. I keep telling myself to try and make the most of my chaotic, messy family because these days don’t last forever. (My last visitor left yesterday and I’m sort of glad to be rid of them to be honest ?) Hope the memories keep you warm this January Menopaws

Certainly trumped the previous day spending 9 hours in a and e with my elderly mum! It was also the anniversary of my dads death so I reckon he arranged it for me

NanKate Mon 07-Jan-19 08:08:31

I’m sure he did Meno my late Dad always gets me a decent place in a car park when I am late and in a panic ?.

Glad you had such a lovely day.
