is there really no compassion for this young person. If the tables had not been turned for ISIL and they were still in a position to perpetrate their stomach curdling atrocities, would she still be asking to come home and give her child a better life? Or would she be supporting the Caliphate, hating Christianity and the West, and teaching her children to have the same compassion for human rights and human life as she has? If her husband is Dutch, see if they will take her. I don’t know why there is even a debate around this.

For those who say don't let her back in - why should the people of Syria be saddled with her? She is not their responsibility.

She has forfieted her British citizenship. If she was allowed back it is likely that she could be a target for islamist and anti-islamist extremists. The British taxpayer cannot afford to give her and her child 24/7 protection for the rest of her life and should not be expected to do so. She is probably safer where she is.

Apparently it could be difficult to find anything to charge her with if she were to come back to the UK. Not even sure how she could do that as we have no consular services there.

In the same circumstances I wouldn’t want a young man to come back and I don’t want this girl to come back either.
In her interview, she says she has no regrets so there must be something about the beliefs and actions of ISIS that she likes. However, if she is concerned for her baby then she could send it back here to be cared for by her family.
What of her husband? Would he want to come here too? He is Dutch, I believe, and is the father of all her children.

I fail to see how she would get back now from a refugee camp in Syria but if she does, is prosecuted and sentenced in England there is hope for reform for her and others like her.

Just heard on the news that the authorities knew she and her friends were being radicalised and instead of telling her parents they gave them letters to take home to tell them! Yes, BBC news not Fox.

I was torn on this one initially. But having just heard her coldly saying how the sight of severed heads didn't faze her I would say no she shouldn't be allowed back.There seems to be no remorse,just a desire to take the best of our society in the support she would receive -whilst having no respect for what I suspect she regards as our 'infidel ' ways.I do feel sorry for the baby ,but she is 19 now and ultimately that's her responsibility.
However I think some human rights lawyer will fight her corner and she will come back.

I've thought about it now. No she shouldn't be allowed back. Her British passport should be revoked. Grammaretto's suggestion that the baby could be sent back is an interesting proposition. The baby is innocent. She is not.

She is 19 now apparently.
As she has a British passport I don’t think she can actually be stopped from returning here.
She went with schoolfriends very willingly, and if she really was sorry for her actions she would be saying so ( she isn’t.)
She wants to return so that the baby will grow up safely, and if she does return then I hope she will be monitored as she could be a dangerous person.

Why should the people of Syria be stuck with her Charleygirl - haven't they suffered enough?

I think any of us can understand a child brought up in a war zone and seeing atrocities inflicted on friends and family growing up traumatised and radicalised.

A London teenager brought up in a peaceful western democracy? Nope not having it. She choose her evil path. Just like any of the British born terrorists did.

No way should she be allowed back to use our NHS services. She is 19 now and has not contributed a penny. She made her bed, she can lie in it.

I can’t honestly see the government in any hurry to get her out of the refugee camp to be honest.

Surely she would also be a target for far right groups here and would need protection in or out of prison.

This young woman is British born and bred and should be allowed back - why should the poor suffering people of Syria have to put up with her any longer - haven't they endured enough?

Although she was only 15, she is now 19 and responsible for her actions, particularly as she seems unapologetic, and so should be subject to whatever legal investigations that any returning fighter faces.

By her actions she helped to sustain ISIS in its murderous rampage throughout Syria & Iraq and should face the consequences. She's lucky not to face local justice.

I hope she repents and turns her life around.

When that British soldier was charged for shooting a wounded man in Afghanistan it was said on this forum he had been affected by what he had witnessed , perhaps this is what war does to some.

I agree it wouldn’t be safe to let her back into this country, she could influence other young girls and even work with terrorists here.

I am afraid I don’t think she should be allowed to come back. There are people/groups in this country who would be all too ready to seize on someone with her experience to groom and radicalise others. The security services are struggling under terrible pressures at the moment to keep tabs on suspected terrorists and terrorist cells already in this country. Letting this girl back in would be setting a terrible precedent: “go out and perpetrate these dreadful crimes; you will be welcomed back to the country you so despise with open arms.” No.

Of course she shouldn't be allowed back into this country.

She has obviously been radicalised during her time there, therefore she is now a very dangerous person, and could pose a threat to this country.

All I hope is that the authorities here don't succumb to the inevitable pleas from the human rights brigade.

I think it’s very tricky to bandy about the word groomed. It’s not an excuse to comit terrible crimes or to support or witness evil and not flinch.
