Hello the kitchen. Sorry I haven’t been around for a while - much to do and feeling a little under the ⛈. I think we have both overdone it since Friday, trying to get “the empty quarter” where the scruffy bushes were removed, into some semblance of order. We have dug, sieved and raked, lugged and rearranged rocks until we are on our knees. Yesterday we went to buy some heathers, and a few heucheras as they are a great favourite of ours. Some of the other plants I wanted are not yet available, but I can definitely wait to be on my knees with a trowel in my hand again! Our neighbour said that even with the plants already in, it was looking nice, so that made me feel better about the hard work and expense! And at least the ones that are in are frost hardy, because I don’t think winter has finished with us yet, in spite of this phenomenal weather.
Izabella I have palm tree envy. I hope your surroundings are helping you to regain a little of your sanguinity.?
I send a similar message to Morethan. Mexico is lovely and the holiday will refresh you.
Panache, glad you seem to be having a bit more interest in your house. It must be a fillip to you both. The Canadians seem to be very keen. “A bird in the hand” and all that....... but I do know what a stressful business selling your house is, even when you are fit and well.
Glad you have had some good news, Dragonfly.
Soop I hope your nausea has passed and you are feeling better. The place you live sounds idyllic and I always love to see your photographs.
N&G hares are my all time favourite animal. We used to have them here, but they all seem to have disappeared. There were quite a lot up in the fields around where DS used to live in North Yorkshire. The person who took the photographs was very lucky to see them ‘boxing’.
Well, DH has just finished being bombastic on the phone with our energy provider who have offered us two totally unrealistic new tariffs for when ours runs out. So now we have to start trawling the internet to find a better deal, and that will make him even more bad tempered. God, I hate it all. To add to it, his eye problem has flared up again and that is not helping his temper. We are supposed to be going out to lunch today, but frankly I just feel like staying in bed and pulling the blankets over my head! I think it’s going to be “one of those days”!
On a good note, DD sent me a photograph of DS’s newly-shed back tooth which has been loose for ages and has been annoying the hell out of him! It’s a whopper. I think the tooth fairy will be running off to find a bank loan to cover that one!
Welcome to all new kitcheners, and apologies to those I have not acknowledged this time round. When you don’t look in for a while, it’s a gallop to keep up! I will try and do better.
