Fun with a stranger

At the moment in our supermarket we have to ask for Postcodes (its to see how far people are traveling to come to ours)

I regular came to my checkout whom I have a chat with ,
at the end I asked "would you like to give your postcode"?

I said "Its ok Im not going to follow you home"!

He said "It's ok you can do"!!

Not as quick witted as you but I love chatting to strangers on long bus trips. Last week I met an old lady older than me who told me her fascinating life story. I felt I could write a novel.

My dear late friend and I used to have great fun with strangers, especially when we went on our coach trips. By the end of our hols. everyone knew us as we'd really left our marks. It helped shorten the distances that we travelled.

I miss those days. We got up to all sorts.

My mum had a great sense of humour. When she was in hospital one time she was on a gurney in a huge theatre lift with a porter and two doctors.

In the silence that developed (as it does) mum told me that she brought up the care in the NHS and said she ought to write in to the hospital board but she wasn’t very good at spelling. The porter said he couldn’t spell either. Mum piped up “well how DO you spell. ‘b*****ds’ anyway?”

She said everyone was laughing so much at that as the lift doors opened and the people standing there looked so puzzled which made them laugh all the more!

Nothing comes to mind but how quick thinking of you. We all need a chuckle sometimes.
