I am suppressing a scream!

I don't know, honestly. I have never painted a floor (varnished yes, painted no) so it would probably take me longer because of that.

I would have thought all the filling can be done on Friday night. I would be tempted to do all the prep and the washdown on Friday night to give it overnight to dry before priming it Saturday morning.

Ah, but Alima it's the smallest bedroom, that we use as an office, we can shut the door!

As I said, the stairs were done in a day with no problem (cats shut out) They were done by Adrian, our wonderful odd job man.

I think the problem with the floor in the office may lie elsewhere............

Doodle, that's my idea of decoration. But pray tell me, how do I prevent my red nail from marking the sides of the walls when I come down the stairs? ?

But if the stairs could be done in one day, surely this room could be done in two days????I

And anyway, most of it will be covered by a rug which is standing, still wrapped, in the hall.

I decorate a bit like I put on nail varnish. It must be dry by now ......I’ll just touch it a little to see .. oh no, ? still tacky..one minute on..surely by now...still tacky? ....I wonder if those fingerprints will show through the top coat... another minute ..... I think I’ll just put the top coat on now and then the whole lot can dry together....? ..oh bugger, I’ve smudged it ?

The decorating of the walls and woodwork is all done (hooray!) just the floor left.

So, IF any sanding is needed, it will be minimal.

Drying time for the primer is 2 hours max.

When the stairs were given the same treatment, it was done in one day.

My concern if I was doing this would be how long it will take to dry inbetween coats. Also how much prep work needs done - does it need the whole thing sanding before the filling in? The fillers will need sanded back after that too. Will the skirting need sanding? Is the floor as well as the skirting getting sugar soaped down before the painting?
