Just got home from having a truly happy evening with my family (2 sons, 4 grandchildren, 1 d-i-l, and my husband), a lovely meal, some brilliant presents, a home-made birthday cake, and beautiful cards. I cried....but this time with the emotion of feeling so fortunate.

So pleased for you Salsa - it is lovely when you can shake off the old black dog.
Happy Birthday - enjoy the rest of your day.
I am struggling at the moment.

Thank you. I am so glad to have the black dog under control this week... as you say, we never know when it will appear again, but I've had a lovely week so far. Met my friend for coffee and cake on Monday, and my workmates sang Happy Birthday to me yesterday, and gave me a cake and wine xx

Thats lovely SalsaQueen.
I'm happy for you. Happy Birthday!
Try to remember this day if you ever feel low.
We don't count our blessings nearly enough.

Many happy returns, SalsaQueen and I hope that the rest of the day goes well for you. Many of us suffer from that old black dog turning up when we least expect it.
And no, you're not bragging - we must be thankful for what we have and the loving people around us. cupcake

Yes the Old Black Dog is prone to appear no matter how well we are doing.
Wishing you a very happy 60th birthday , & don’t feed that greedy OBD who tries to pester you . ???

For some reason I have been really low lately- but today's my birthday (60) and I realise now how very lucky I am. I've had 15 cards, loads of lovely presents, I've been to the park and the pub for lunch with one son and his children, and had lots of Facebook greetings. My other son is collecting my husband and me in an hour, to go out for tea. Then I'll get presents from both sons and grandchildren, all together.

I hope it doesn't sound as though I'm bragging - I'm not, I'm just feeling really thankful to have all these people around who care about me (only a week ago I was somehow convinced that nobody liked me - that old black dog was very bad last week)
