We spent the afternoon watching the Tour de Yorkshire on TV, my goodness it was so wet. Dry with us but windy and colder. Later DH drove DD to the station, she's enroute for Heathrow, flying out to Shanghai at 10.25. I shall follow her on plane tracker - if you see me in the kitchen I'll be the one with square eyes.
Hospital appointment in the morning, so have to get some sleep.

I'm glad to see that you have been a good patient Soop, now you need to be a 'model' one and continue to rest.

When I read panache’s post late last night, I felt woefully inadequate in being able to help in any way. The words don’t always come to me. I found myself knowing in my mind that one of the other kitcheners would be in soon. They will help.
A few minutes later I saw maw had posted. I sat here and thought, thank goodness it’s maw. maw will have the words I can’t find. maw will help.
This is really what happened last nigh. What a place the kitchen is that these thoughts and feelings about virtual friends and their support and help would cross my mind.

First visit of the day and I am saddened by your news panache, even more so at the unkind treatment of you both. . A second opinion may indeed be helpful if you have the strength to seek it but in the meantime please be gentle with yourselves and allow time for the news to settle.

I'm delighted you are behaving soop, keep up the good work. Don't overdo it kitty, it sounds as if patience is needed, hope tomorrow brings renewed energy.

Been out all day, chores to accomplish so I'm off. Take are everyone, look after yourselves and of course TOYA.

I have spent the day sprottling under the eaves sorting out boxes from when we moved over a year ago. They have remained unopened so the contents are now on the way to the charity shop - working on the assumption the contents haven't been used - so are therefore not necessary. The spiders here are magnificent and appear to be more interested in me than moving away. Big is an understatement. They are now left in peace and with much more space to roam.

Soop pleased you are resting and doing what you are told advised by all those who care.

I echo Ormonds post and I think there are many who would help each other if distance and circumstances were different.

I am jiggered, but happy to know we have friends bringing a curry for dinner. We shall have wine too and enjoy a relaxed and joyful evening together.

Dear panache, I read all the posts but not good at expressing in words but I feel I know you from your posts and know you are a very caring and understanding person and am so sad that you are not getting the kindness from the hospital you truly deserve! If I lived anywhere near you I would definitely be at your door to help in any way you would let me.

Glad you've taken it easy soop. I felt better and our cleaner was here so DH and I went to Sainsbury's and then to exercise our franchises and I am totally whacked now. I perked up when a bouquet from the children was delivered but I'm now sitting vegetating.

Glad to hear you are being good, soop. Pleasing news while I just pop in to thank everyone for the kind messages regarding my mother's death. The funeral is in a couple of weeks.

I have been following all your orders to the letter. Have enjoyed an exceedingly quiet afternoon. Warm sunshine in which I may not languish (according to the blurb on the latest antibio's list of no-nos).

MacSporran thanks you lovely lot for keeping a close watch over me. He has however said that I am a first rate patient. He even offered to pop into the kitchen in person to tell you so.

I'm about to read the newspaper. It's hard to believe that it's Friday tomorrow. My word, how time flies at a rate of knots.

Dearest Panache hearing your news has taken the wind out of my sails. You deserve to be treated with compassion. It appears that the hospital was far too busy to take the time to treat you kindly. So very different from our experiences. Both MacSporran and I send you gentle, kind, compassionate thoughts.

panache you have been on my mind since I read your post yesterday. I fear I can say little that will help but want you to know I am thinking of you. I wish you strength and fortitude .
We all have burdens to bear throughout our lives, but you seem to be particularly burdened. Just take life one hour at a time and try not to think too hard of the future. I find it helps me.

Meanwhile - consider yourself hugged and blessed.

Panache I'm so sorry to hear your news and the brutal way in which it was delivered. There is no excuse for a lack of compassion and care from the doctor. We are all with you in spirit and virtual hugs .

Dearest Panache you and Mr.P have had so many "buggerations" to deal with no wonder you are both at the end of your tether.

Were you given any "information leaflets" with contact details of a cancer nurse, McMillan Nurses or Marie Curie?

If you have a hospice locally (or the nearest one) please give them a phone call as they have access to lots of services and support and may be able to give you advice on where to go and help you move on from this very dark place you are in.

Sending you virtual hugs, if only we could all be there for you physically Panache, I do hope that you are able to take some comfort from your Kitchen friends.

Panache what a brutal way to receive that kind of news. How awful for you both. I hope you can speak at some length with your GP who sounds as though he is on the ball, and hopefully get something sorted for care at home. This action has been unkind in the extreme.

Panache this is so close to home to me I have no words to help you, just love and kindest thoughts to you both.

Morning everyone. Dear Panache, so, so sorry about the news and delivery. A relative is a MacMillan nurse and is trained to help in a very particular way. I hope your GP can help you access some like her. A MacMillan nurse has a real way of helping navigate this rocky journey and will help both of you. Sending love.

I am off to cut the grass, weed and put in some nursery plants. There is something therapeutic in gardening - for the head and heart - although I know I will be stiff tomorrow.
I have left fresh crumpets on the side with two kinds of butter, salted and unsalted. The toaster is there too and a pot of last year’s black currant jelly (no seeds!!!!)

So sorry to hear your news Panache. That was my dad’s diagnosis and like your DH, very little treatment was offered. Talk to your GP (Dad’s was a waste of space) and push for some treatment.

Panache so sorry that this devastating news was delivered so brutally. I agree with Maw a second opinion is required and ask if there are any drug trials he could be put on specifically for his type of cancer. Please do not give up.
