I'm baffled by why, having announced your decision to leave, you bump the thread.
Formal letters using my first name
Good Morning Friday 21st August 2026
Rupert Lowe and the “rowers” haha
I started this site recently. Not today, not yesterday, I think it was near the beginning of April.
Since then, I have had two of my threads deleted because countless people have accused me of being a troll, and mixing up a few of my threads to make it seem as such.
Despite several attempts to explain myself, the statements were also seen as disingenuous, probably because the people that had previously accused me of being a troll didn't want to admit their wrong-doings and wanted to continue to treat me wrongly for the fun of it, what sick joy.
I was mocked, harassed and bullied by allot of commenters that meant harm and no good. And instead of Gransnet deleting the accounts of the posters that made these comments, they decided to delete my entire threads instead. So these posters still have access to gransnet and will probably have a good laugh at the fact my threads were deleted as in a way I've been defeated.
I did not expect immaturity in an environment directed at older people, who I thought to know better than to treat someone this way.
As a consequence, Gransnet has lost my custom and as soon as I figure out how to delete my account, I don't plan on returning until the site improves in a way that defeats the wrong-doers instead the victim.
I'm baffled by why, having announced your decision to leave, you bump the thread.
Get it??
Clever you.
I’ve never done an online shop before.
You’re one step ahead of me.
Tell us a bit about yourself DINNNO you could start with your user name and how you chose it perhaps.

Chewbacca's reply got me thinking...
the read lines.

Ah! Hang on - just seen this is actually all about another thread where you have been receiving what looks like some sensible advice .
Shouldn’t you have posted your shopping list there as this thread started as something quite different?
I’m not entirely sure what your expectation is in terms of publishing a shopping list ?
Approval? A round of applause ? I think if you’re looking to ‘chat’ maybe pick a subject with a wider appeal ?
Or better yet set the scene , give some background and better details .
Maybe OP just wants to chat Gabriella. And that's fine, isn't it?
IMO, it all sounds rather odd. Why do we want to know what your shopping list is and the prices?
It's not even on the ' food ' thread.
DINNNO I thought you would find my link about noodle knitting amusing - what to do with leftovers. - but perhaps not.
I thought it was funny anyway,
Thanks for your comment Maw. I was up late constructing the list so forgot to think more about portion sizes. I will construct another list when I'm a bit more awake.
Not sure I am seeing 21 meals (is it just for 1 or are you feeding your husband/partner too?)
Tea, coffee, Bread, spread?
I fear 2 tins of baked beans won’t go too far either.
I think I'll add more things to create a bigger variety of foods. on the shopping list there's baked potato with spinach and baked beans, or rice, vegetables, tinned tomato, onion and garlic. Could turn the potatos into wedges. for breakfast is porridge that i could have with water or coconut milk, with the additions of banana and/or mixed fruits. I do think I should have a bigger variety of things though. I will think of different meals I can make and have a look for ingredients and let you know the total when I've figured it all out
Is that all your food shop for a week DINNNO? No bread, no spread, no milk (apart from coconut milk), no tea, no coffee, no eggs, no protein (apart from baked beans). Are you vegan? What main meals will you cook with these ingredients? I can see a meal of rice with vegetables flavoured with garlic, but every day?
As for the deleted threads, as FlexibleFriend suggested, try starting more normal threads, instead of the rather weird and wacky ideas you've been posting, (e.g. dog strollers, training your dog to be a guide dog 'in case' you ever need one) and you are more likely to find friendly response.
Interesting shopping list DINNO- do you know what you are planning to cook? It’s a start!
Nice one!
total is still £18.01 just forgot to add the price of the two bags of oats totalled £1.50
*the shop was done online
FlexibleFriend, Idecided to do a tesco shop earlier today and actually managed to construct a shopping list snacks included. It took several hours to construct and think about. Here's the list and the total:
ginger biscuits £1
x2 mixed baked beans £1.10
light coconut milk £1.45
spinach £0.79
bag of sweet potatos £0.95
x2 tinned tomatos £0.56
x2 cranberry juice
rice £1.60
organic garlic 3 pack £0.90
red onions 3 pack £0.85
organic white mushrooms £1.00
bag of mixed vegetables £0.92
five organic fair trade bananas £1.39
frozen mixed summer fruits £2
x2 porridge oats
total £18.01
DINNO if threads become too heated then they are deleted by GNHQ quite often, it’s nothing to do with being defeated by posters.
Start another (lighter?) thread.
DINNNO I only saw one of your threads which may have been deleted, but if I remember correctly, the posters who were speculating in a not very pleasant way, got quite a lot of criticism themselves from other posters, and lots of other posters were quite bemused as to what was going on.
We aren’t supposed to discuss other threads by the way, so if anything gets deleted I hope it’s just my post and not the entire thread!
Flexible has some good advice.
Choose the subjects of your threads a bit more carefully and you’ll get a more sympathetic response.
Lots of us have had a baptism of fire on GN, myself included
CrazyH, thanks for letting me know. Glad to hear you've found great empathy here.
Unfortunately, I've already had two of my threads deleted after being called a troll on two of my threads. I've only been on this site since around the start of this month. I think if GN wanted to do something constructive about the bullies & troll hunters on this site, they would've removed their accounts, and not my threads.
I've commented on your threads but have never bullied, mocked or ridiculed etc just said I think your ideas are a bit odd which is probably why you think you get negative comments. I did see the post about your dog and stroller and thought it a daft idea and the £20 a week food budget another daft idea. The triplets buggy I had nothing to add oh and the dog you wanted to train as a guide dog another daft thread. So I was polite but since your feeling victimised maybe try posting a more normal thread rather than the off the wall topics you've posted so far.
Oh right - sorry about that. Don't leave....GN will note this and sort the problem out, I'm sure. This is a great site - I have found great empathy here and to be honest, I have been told off a couple of times. I really like people to be honest with me. So, I benefit even from the negative comments.
Someone mentioned about you/dog. I didn't see it, so I can't comment . Good luck.
CrazyH
there was lots of negative comments about me on my thread. My threads must've been deleted before you even saw them.
