Watching the old ‘carry on’ films which I still love, but jeez, what did women see in Sid James?

Funny man & great actor, but by no stretch of the imagination was he good looking.
Or am I missing something?

Gabriella G54. LTR was in your comment of Friday 19th April 12.41'. You said "lately though in a LTR relationship I have found a certain professional"
I now know it means long term relationship ....

Callistemon Sun 28-Apr-19 19:37:11

Gabriella grin

I think LTR usually means long term relationship, Lilypops?

in Bless this House he came across as just a normal dad you would easily imagine them as a real family! he had that naughty twinkle in his eye and he had that unmistakable laugh

A man that can make you laugh is like an aphrodisiac.

Just don't discuss religion with Tom Cruise, GabriellaG54!

Cader Idris:

Both rugged.

I wonder if Lionel Blair can still dance? I think he can still tap a few steps - and was apparently self-taught!

GabriellaG54 Sun 28-Apr-19 10:10:00

There is only one actor I ever 'fancied' and that was Tom Cruise, first seen in 'Cocktail'.
There's no other celeb I'd cross the road to meet.
I've had dinner with Pierce Brosnan and others at the home of my then boss and partied with US actor Richard Bradford (Man In A Suitcase) at an IPC magazines 'do'.
Richard was ok and wrote letters to me in green 'proper' ink and put his initials REB over the seal of the envelope.
I remember mum taking the letters into work to show her friends.

Re Sid James....l Hated his laugh...ugh

callgirl1 Mon 22-Apr-19 17:13:25

Sorry Rufus, GK and Fred have also shuffled off this mortal coil. Lionel Blair is still around...………...

Callistemon Mon 22-Apr-19 16:41:11

SparklyGrndma I think his name is Idris Elba (named after a Welsh mountain perhaps?) and not to be spoken of in the same breath as Sid James!
He is definitely very handsome (although I have never seen Luther).

Rufus2 Mon 22-Apr-19 12:50:16

Tẁould be a little difficult Rufus, she died in 2008
callgirl; Well I never did! Where have I been these past 11 years? Nobody told me! I thought she was an immortal goddess (not immoral!), but now somebody will remind me as to whether G.K. and Fred have shuffled off their mortal coils! sad
Btw Brandy; are you still working out what you meant too! grin

Deedaa Sun 21-Apr-19 21:34:40

Juliet27 I do rather fancy Mark Carney as well. Recently found out that DD likes him too!
