I am still in the cat house- Tara has not been near me for a single cuddle. The door is open if she wants to go out but at least she is staying in the same room as myself which is a plus. She has said zilch today- she is normally very vocal first thing in the morning but not today.

I was asleep long before 10.30pm last night- usually midnight is my witching hour. I slept until 5.30am.

Tara is on prescription food which is dry biscuits - she has not touched them so I must buy her soft food which she would normally sniff and walk past.

Oh dear, Charley, that’s so typical of cats! I hope she thaws out a bit as the day goes on and in time forgets about her trauma altogether!

I popped out for an hour and she came out with me but was hanging around the front door when I came home, wanting service to let her in rather than use the catflap,

She has brushed against my leg once so maybe slowly she will forgive me for trauma x2 within a week- really, how could I? We are not out of the woods yet because we still do not know the cause of the elevated blood result x3 on her liver. Still, it does not appear to be anything sinister.

My apologies when there are so many other buggersations- I will shut up now about my baby girl.

Oh charley you and Tara are as important any anyone and anything else. Sounds as if she’s thawing. If the service is up to standard I suspect all will be well by this evening.

Now, for real trivia, who has the leg of lamb? Send it urgently, please!! Yesterday Mr C, totally unprompted, cleaned ‘your’ kitchen. I was pleased, ignored the ‘your’ and the fifty times he mentioned it later. A benign smile was the response. Didn’t I do well? This morning he’s still doing it, if a recent between clenched teeth ‘where would you like your medal?’ doesn’t change the record I need the leg of lamb before I reach anything sharp. .

Off for a food shop now. Mr C wants to come. I may leave him in Aisle 13 (freezers........).

corner does he have a separate kitchen or does he dine elsewhere? I would leave him on aisle 13, you will not be accused of injuring him and with luck he may not remember where he lives. I would have murdered him.

charley, just a thought, is Tara spending all the time she is out during the day at the 'Argy'. That wont be helping her liver!

corner, maybe your dh should be the only one allowed into your kitchen. He could cook and clean to his heart's content.

kitty I do not think so because she is not a lover of crowds. I do not allow her to come with me when I pop in.

Hi folks. The wanderer returns. I have been up to my neck since Sunday in grandsons, hospital appointments (I have come to the conclusion that my GP’s favourite pastime is sending me to be poked and prodded!) and general dashing around and accommodating people who decide at short notice that they want to come and dig up my garden to extend the patio. Anyone wanting to make use of the space (*Corner*?) for, shall we say, hiding evidence, before the slabs go down please form an orderly queue! I won’t charge!
Charley I am pleased that your girl is back home with you. All our cats seem to have suffered some trauma or other that required staying with the vet at one time or another and they all “got the face on” with us when they came home! The only one who didn’t was a lovely little chap who came from the RSPCA, was poorly from day one and was always at the vets. He never held it against us, but frankly, I don’t think he normally knew where he was most of the time in any case. He was very loving and quirky but he didn’t live long. The others were complete madams?!
My grandson stayed over Tuesday and Wednesday and I took him into town to see a film. We went on the tram. I think it was a shock to his system. Public transport is a foreign country to him. I gave him the money for his fare (I couldn’t get away with slipping him my senior citizens bus pass!). “What do I say to her?” he said in mild panic as the conductress approached up the aisle. He was visibly relieved when she gave him his ticket. I think he thought she was going to eat him! I think his life skills need taking in hand!
Well I have to go and make builders tea for the builders. I know I’ve failed to catch up again, but I just wanted to poke my nose around the door. I’ll look in later and try to do better.

It sounds like Tara still loves you Charley even if she is trying hard to pretend not to.

Well took DH to the doctor (again) with his hip. He is now on stronger painkillers although I have found out he stopped taking them because there weren't working DRRRR! Men!!!
We are going south for my birthday in the middle of June and I have threatened to leave him behind. Is there still a men's ward in the kitchen or was that disbanded when they were behaving badly?

Just made a fruit roulade for a party tomorrow night so I made two and left one on the side.

Peace is restored here so no need of your patio extension greyd, although the offer was much appreciated. It seems Mr C has realised he was, in his words, ‘going on a bit’. Yes, just a bit . So far no mention for two hours. It’s a bad idea for Mr C to cook if I want to eat it , so the kitchen is primarily my territory. He did cook for himself yesterday, having rejected my suggestion of salad, and I suspect the kitchen needed cleaning.. Oh well, peace is restored and I suspect it will be ‘our’ kitchen for the foreseeable.

Your description of your grandson on the tram made me smile greyd. Our younger granddaughter entertained the top deck of a bus a couple of years ago by asking at full volume why people waved at the bus and what the ‘ding thing’ was for. She now understands how bus stops work and has this year been brave enough to buy her own ticket. Good job they have grandparents .

Right, off to the garden centre now for more compost. I was determined not to have so many pots and tubs this year. Oh dear. 100 lines, tries hard, must to better

Dear folks I hope I am not about to add gloom to our lovely kitchen but iof I do not yell out loud I think I shall go pop!!!

Life and all its uncertainities,my health playing up,the move...........and where half the many things attributed to these are going well,we have met a few great people whom have uplifted us and given us such an insight to the kindness of human nature when they meet hardship head on.However sadly there are also far too many almost taking advantage and being less than kind or understanding...........which truly can be that last straw right now.
I am having a few real heeby jeebies and not being the most decisive person in the first place this is adding to my problems.
My eyesight has deteriorated in the worst way and I can only attribute it to all this stress.The burdens are many and quite frankly with no one to share them life is being very hard.
The one big ray is my dear one has just had his second treatment and hopefully there will be no repurcussions.
However it did not help my ..........or our........mood hearing our Surgery`s boundaries mean we are just outside the limit and so not only changing address and just about everything else we now need to change Doctors.
To those whom thought this move must be I say think long and hard another time because there are a million and one things to take into consideration as we are now finding out to our detriment.
I can but hope that at the end this move will turn out to be worthwhile.At the moment could cheerfully hand in the towel and crawl under the biggest stone in a darkened cave!
By the way my PC and internet service is playing up so to the dear ones whom send me letters,please know I am not ignoring you,in fact this is about all that keeps me ticking over............so a big thank you.

Panache I'm sorry to hear that you're health is playing up and that you are feeling so down. ?

panache moving house as we all know is one of the most traumatic things to do and when your health is poor it only adds to the stress as you say. I am so sorry your eyesight is getting worse. We too had to change doctors when we moved and I wasn’t looking forward to it as we had been with the same wonderful doctor for years. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find our new surgery very accommodating and the staff and doctors we have met have been all very good. I hope it will be the same for you. Glad MrP’s treatment is going well. I do hope things improve for you both but please come into the kitchen and scream as loud as you like. We are here to listen. TOY

Now Tara stop being so grumpy ? You know you only went to the vet for your own good. ? It’s not mum’s fault you’ve been poorly and she’s only trying to help. Ok, I admit the dry biscuits are a bit of a let down when you’re used to being fed caviar from a silver bowl ?but sometimes you just have to pinch your nose and take your medication like a good cat. I expect to hear you’ve been on your best behaviour soon so come on now, forgive and forget and give mum a big cuddle ?

Doodle I cannot believe it but it has taken over 24 hours for me to come out of the cat house. She now loves her mummy again and I would think will come to bed with me looking for cuddles as usual. Yesterday evening she was really funny, walking past my bedroom.
