Well my day turned out well.
I rang my neighbour about our walk and she said she needed to go to the garden centre, did I want to go?
Did I ever?
She got her plants and said shall we stay and have some lunch .
We both had a delicious chicken, bacon and avocado salad
It is Nottcutts if you have a branch near you, amd then we went to a shopping outlet and I bought some super Reiker sandals and a free standing fan, for this hot summer we are promised and Pat bought a "best " top for a cruise she is going on next month.
While we both agreed it would be nice to turn back the clock 10 years, we know we can't and to be able to do all that spontaneously was a really nice feeling.
Lifted my spirits so much.

Not much happening here today. I'm weary, little sleep last night, an uncomfortable one, so just pottering. Did a little garden tidying and when I got to the roses it dawned on me that no matter how chilly I think it is in the howling gale we have today the flowers think its summer.

Plan a sit down and a sort of some paperwork now. TOYA and yes, be good everyone.

I've been fairly busy working. preparing for my holiday. Skyping DD1 and Grandaughter and this weekend have been up to Epsom to see DD2 in her latest musical.

ann Hips, knees, bums and whatevers...buggerations a plenty. However, we do try to maintain a sense of humour and optimism.

Good morning all.
I think even my morning walk with my neighbour will be cancelled, which means of course, I will have to find some housework to do.
I have had a poor night with a very painful hip, I will have to do something about it. It is the same side as the knee which was replaced nearly 3 years ago.
It is affecting that knee now, it may be the way I am walking to help the hip.
Not much good about getting very old.
Molly is not liking the rain, she ventures out for a minute and then back in, but we have had success on the litter tray front, she stopped using it last week.
The downside is that she is "going" in next door's front garden.
He is not the most tolerant of men and I am awaiting the complaint.

Hello lovely ladies - I’ve not been on line today and we’ve just got back from going out to eat. I’m very full so I’ve got my pj’s on now (well, we are an hour ahead!) and I’m sitting here with a cuppa whilst I read some of the threads. Lovely.

On the photo ... I’m the one in the middle wearing green! soop you were right - how witchy are you? Actually the lady on the left of the photo - would you ever believe she’s 84y? I was astonished how youthful she is when we first made friends. Originally she hails from Harrogate but now lives permanently in Malaga.

What have I done today? Well, not a lot. . It’s been a grey, drizzly day which sort of seeped into my good intentions.

Isn’t it wonderful that there are such understanding people izabella? I’m delighted you have them in your life. Totally agree, nature has a way of calming us all.

Our little garden is in dire need of some tidying, with better weather forecast for tomorrow I suspect I will also be drawn in greyd. Mr C is more likely to need to be dragged out, he’s no gardener but is an excellent labourer, fortunately.

Try not to be scared fennel thinking about these things is always worse than experiencing them. Sending a hug.

Izabella it’s good to hear that you are still finding positives and enjoying the small things that warm all our hearts. Your comment about the breeze ruffling the grass resonated with me as we stood, while we were out walking yesterday, watching the wind rippling through a huge field of unripe barley and DH said it looked like waves washing toward a beach. Mesmerising.
Soop I am sorry to hear you are not up to par at the moment. Please look after yourself - we depend on you to keep us all on track!
We have had a quiet day today - I had no intention of gardening but gardens have a way of drawing you in as soon as you step outside. One small thing that needs a modicum of attention will catch your eye and before you know it you are swept along with digging and delving and the afternoon has gone.
I will catch up with everybody one day I promise! TOYA in the meantime.

Just to say to dear soop - UTIs and the antibiotics that go with it can drag you down.
And the thought of more surgery! I've just got a date for mine, June 18th. I'm scared, and I haven't just had a mastectomy.

Soop , I’m so sorry to hear everything has caught up with you. I hope your GP can start to resolve at least some of the issues. Be kind to yourself in the meantime .

We have been lazy these last few days , crafting, gardening and such . So where did the time go?

Tomorrow will be another disappearing day before my nightmare day on Tuesday , Slimming first thing , dentist at lunchtime - if we could add the start of WW 3 I would have the unholy trifecta !!

izabella thank you for your posts. My dear brother had Alzheimer’s and it took a little while for my SIL to accept his difficulties and stop correcting him every time he made a mistake. In her defence, it was not through lack of caring just in the hope I think that by correcting him it would stop the deterioration of his memory. When she realised this would not happen, life became more comfortable for them both when she went along with whatever his thought patterns were. I have no idea if this will be of any comfort to you (it is certainly not my intention to upset you) but despite the fact that for a very short while, in the early stages, he forgot who she was, my brother stayed loving and affectionate to my SIL throughout his life. Even in advanced stages, her welfare was uppermost in his mind and he remained a gentleman polite to all until the end.

Funny how some things stick in my mind. All day today I have been recalling a strange visual and audible scene of goslings 'farting through hedges.' Thanks for the smiles whoever posted that one!! (Yes I do realise it was a typo)

Wonderful experience last evening with friends. An extremely confused conversation (on my part) with the most lovely of ladies who never interrupted me, never tried to put words into my mouth and were so patient. Just gentle reassurance. It made me feel more normal and respected as a person.

Today much clearer with everything. A little gardening and an afternoon with Georgette Heyer in the deckchair, but don't ask me what I am reading, as the book is not in front of me. That sort of thing I don't recall too well.

I hope everyone has managed to find a moment of peace or joy during thre day. My particular one was watching the breeze ruffle the grass changing the colour from a blue green to light green. As it that wasn't enough I glanced skyward and noticed the most beautiful coloured
halo around the sun. Mother Earth has the knack of giving solace and contentment when I pay attention to her.

Tomorrow I sow lettuce if we can find where I left the seed packet between us. Good job current husband has the patience of a saint. Thanks also to all who post supportive comments about me. It means the world.

This morning my alarm was set for 8 am, I woke 10 minutes before so switched the alarm off and got up. On arriving downstairs I found it was only just turned 7 am so relaxed with my book before getting dressed. Went up at 8.30 to get dressed, Lynne was still in bed, carer expected around 10 am. I`d been upstairs 5 minutes when I heard a voice call out "Hello?" 2 Carers had arrived a bit early, so had to wait till Lynne could drag herself out of bed!
2 of my grandchildren have birthdays today. Jenny is 27, and Kian is 11, I feel OLD!

I also renewed my passport online and mine arrived about 4-5 days later. Provided one was born in this country and there are no problems they are very speedy nowadays.

I have just returned home having had lunch out with a friend. Why is everybody bundled together with empty tables further down the restaurant? I refused to be placed at a table beside two young children but in fairness, there was not a peep out of either of them. I feel like doing what Tara is good at, resting my eyes.

I must tell her tomorrow is a BH and we do not need to be up at the crack of dawn.
