Good Morning Everyone,
Its bright and sunny and dry this morning.
Supposed to be the warmest day as well this week.
Doing my usual , of to Bicester and Buckingham on the buses , also taking bottled water with me.
Intend to look at flea market in Buckingham , get home watch the penultimate stage of the Giro , then maybe a teat of a Chinese later.
Mick

Grammaretto Did you have cream with your lemon drizzle? Bet it tasted good though*
Re the car, thanks for that. I just need a good kick . The Citroen fits into our garage, just. Wing mirrors need pulling in and aerial is a tad too long, just needs a stubby one.
(A new, electric garage door would be good). DH is holding onto his thoughts ?

Hi Mick and all sorry for the late time. But hope you have had a good day.

NanKate Sat 01-Jun-19 11:29:54

Morning Mick and All. Late call in from me.

Warm sunshine in West Sussex.

Just completed a whole week of childminding which has gone better than expected. Just waiting for DH to finish off a few DIY jobs for DS before we go homeward bound and stopping off at an NT Cafe for lunch.

Grammaretto Sat 01-Jun-19 10:53:05

Dear Auntieflo it's a lemon drizzle so I have presented it to the coffee morning but it's been sliced now and doesn't look as bad! It still tastes good.

As for parting with your Mitsi - I think you've had 17 great years and are ready for a new workhorse now. That's impressive.

How lovely Gillybob those moments you want to bottle.
smile

A late good morning from the NE coast where we have a bright and mild start to the day.

Took my dad for his usual big shop yesterday straight from work and met DD with little Evie in town. She is walking around the furniture now and can stand for ages on her own but not quite confident enough to walk unaided. Anyway we popped into Clark’s shoe shop and came out with the most delicious pair of “my first shoes” shiny soft patent in the most lovely coral colour that she picked herself . They have lovely soft memory foam soles too. Back at mine she was sitting on the bottom step of my stairs kicking her legs up and down feeling her “noo shoos” hitting the floor and giggling. It was one of those moments I just wanted to bottle for ever. smile

I have her back tonight for an overnight as DD is on lates today and an early open tomorrow, then when she goes home I have the 3 older DGC to take her place on Sunday as the 2 primary children have an “in service” day on Monday (grrrrr) so I’m swapping my usual nights and days at work to fit things around them. Wasn’t quite the relaxing weekend I had planned but hey ho.

I can’t believe you still have no hot water BlueSapphire I was sure you would post this morning to say you were finally all done . This really is unexeptable. I don’t know how you are staying so calm.

I hope you Continue to enjoy Malaga Urmstongran I am soooooo jealous. What I would give.......sigh

I really hope you feel up to having your visitors Ann .

Have a good Saturday everyone. x

Auntieflo Sat 01-Jun-19 09:13:56

Grammareto, just seen your post about your cake. Just put custard on it and enjoy. I had a disaster with a ginger cake, when the children were small, and they loved my ginger disaster and custard.?

Auntieflo Sat 01-Jun-19 09:11:52

Morning Michael, Annie and all. Beautiful sunny day here, so will plant some bedding in pots later on. First we are going out for our usual coffee meet up with friends, then DD and SIL are popping in. We may buy their car, as they have an upgrade coming soon, and I want to see if it will fit in the garage. That is, if we decide to go ahead. I am so torn about losing my faithful Mitsi, I have had her for nearly 17 years now, and she has been no trouble at all. Dilemma, what to do? She is ageing, like me, so heart or head?
To all those with health problems, here’s hoping that you all start to feel better soon.
Have a lovely day one and all.

Grammaretto Sat 01-Jun-19 09:06:01

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I still have the heating on!
Gardening Scotland this w/end at Ingliston where I hope to be at some stage.
I was out picking flowers just now. The grass is knee high after all the rain but the birdsong is uplifting.
My cake has sunk in the middle so does that mean we have to eat it now and not put it out for public consumption?
Have a good weekend everyone.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Cloudy and rain forecast in Mid Wales

Hope everyone has a good day x

Good morning from a bright Aberdeenshire...the sun is shining but it's not warm. The mutt is outside on pheasant watch and he will go for his usual romp in the woods after we have been to the so called monthly market. It's mainly Cats Protection women with a load of old tat but there is a very good egg stall. Have a good day everyone.

Urmstongran Sat 01-Jun-19 08:49:53

Good morning everyone from Malaga. Gorgeous again.
??
We set off for a curry last night with friends, the restaurant is only small and had tables reserved so no room at the inn! Decided to go for a Chinese a bit further along.

So glad we did as bumped into another couple we all know and the 6 of us ate together on a round table (love those, so inclusive for chatting together).

I ordered a side vegetable of broccoli with garlic. Delicious but I’d better not breathe over anyone for a few hours ....

Hope you feel up to seeing your family today anne and that Saturday is good to us all, whether we have plans or (like me), none. x

annsixty Sat 01-Jun-19 08:29:17

Good morning all from a not so sunny Stockport.
When will I realise that the weather is very selective and not to blindly believe the forecast?
I do not sit in the garden much but I do like to have breakfast and morning coffee out there.
As usual, not going anywhere but may have a visit from some extended family, they are waiting for me to ring to say I am feeling sociable today, which isn't always the case.

Good morning to you all from a beautiful south coast, just as the Half Term week is finishing for the local schools. Our roads have been busy over the week, the start of the holiday season.
I wish I could get a good nights' sleep, whatever time I go to bed I sleep solidly for about 3 hours and then have to get up every hour (almost to the hour) to go to the loo, until I finally give up and get up. I really do need my sleep.
Had a lovely e-mail from our grandson who is doing a solo bike ride through France, he arrived safely and told me of the beautiful village he had found and the sound of the birds. I said I would worry all the time he was there, so he is trying to put my mind at rest - he is a grown man, but makes no difference.
That's a lot from me! Take care and enjoy your days.

Good morning All x
Right now it doesn't look as though we'll see any sun unless it'll be out at teatime ! A heavy sky and it'll probably be clammy with it sad Quite disappointing considering the rest of the country looks bright.

I've been awake since 4am ! After a visit to the bathroom I got back into bed and as I was about to settle, a heavier than usual flight passed overhead. First of all I thought it unusual at this hour then lay wide awake telling myself it sounded like a 747-----then it dawned on me that it was probably carrying Liverpool fans on their way to Madrid.
We're not used to hearing heavy planes from JLA airport.

Anyway because half an hour had gone I got up and made a cup of tea, fed the cats because they'd got up as well then put the news on. I was wide awake and felt as though I could have done a days work.

Will water mine and next doors plants this morning, the neighbour's away so must make sure her plants don't wither then must prune a shrub that's hiding the bottlebrush flowers. Enough to keep me out of mischief for a couple of hours.

Hope everyone's day goes well and if you have sunshine make the most of it !

Good morning Mick and all from a not so sunny Glasgow! How can the weather be so diverse in the same country?

I woke with a blinding headache, so I can emmpathise Dora, migraines are so debilitating. sad
I think it has been caused by one of my new medications, which I have to take early in the morning on an empty stomach, but I will have to persevere.

I plan to try out a recipe for Scottish crumpets today, (different from the English variety. ) grin.

We have our wee granddaughter for a sleepover tonight, to allow mum and dad to go for out dinner. We gave them a voucher for Christmas, including a baby sitting voucher, they are now calling it in. grin )

Enjoy your Saturday, everyone.

kittylester Sat 01-Jun-19 08:04:25

Morning all.

As dragonfly says, north Leicestershire is lovely and sunny.

We spent a lot of time (and money) at the garden centre yesterday so had better get on with planting.

Enjoy your days everyone.

cornergran Sat 01-Jun-19 07:47:38

Morning Mick, morning All. It’s a all, bright start in our corner of Somerset. Plan to get the bus to the beach for a walk and some lunch. Goodness bluesapphire, you must be more than tired of no hot water. Hope Saturday is kind to everyone.

Greyduster Sat 01-Jun-19 07:46:43

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Maple has given you our South Yorkshire weather. We have nothing planned for today; perhaps a walk and a coffee somewhere. The garden is out of bounds until the landscapers have finished, which will be Monday now. I am in no hurry to get up this morning! Have a good day, folks.

harrigran Sat 01-Jun-19 07:44:59

Good morning from a calm, sunny NE.
A quiet day for us to allow DH to rest and recover from his two months of hospital visits.
Family returning from holiday, I suspect they will not be happy as the weather has been pants.

travelsafar Sat 01-Jun-19 07:44:29

Looks like a beautiful day is on the way. Just been out in the garden taking photos of 12 opium poppies that decided to open during the night early hours of this morning, they are stunning. Took pics as they don't last long unfortunately and DH still asleep and they may be gone by the time he rouses himself. smile Off to town and the library this morning then out to my sister in laws with my sister as she is hosting a baby shower for her forthcoming grandson in August. Hope everyone has a lovely day and a chance to enjoy the summery weather that is forcast.

Pittcity Sat 01-Jun-19 07:43:08

Good morning from a hot, sunny Colchester. Will pop into town to return some purchases and probably replace with more.... I don't really need more clothes.
Quiet afternoon in the garden with a book.

aggie Sat 01-Jun-19 07:41:47

Good Morning all , hazy sun here in NI , been out spraying the Hollyhocks , but it looks like they will have to be binned sad

dragonfly46 Sat 01-Jun-19 07:41:26

Good morning from a lovely sunny Leicestershire.

Hope you have a better day today Dora.

Doctor gave DH stronger pain killers so he perked up a lot yesterday.

Party and barn dance tonight for a friend’s birthday in local village hall tonight.

Mapleleaf Sat 01-Jun-19 07:39:59

Good morning,
A lovely morning here, with just a very gentle breeze, hardly anything to worry about.
It’s the church Spring Fayre this afternoon, so it looks as if they have chosen a good day for it. I’ll pop along later with a few bits for the hamper and some raffle ticket money. Other than that, a fairly lazy day relaxing in the garden. I’ve just got to call in to the butchers this morning.
I got the grass cut yesterday, so that’s one chore less to worry about. (To be honest, I quite enjoy doing it, and something can be seen from my efforts)!
Whatever your plans for today, I hope it’s a good one. ?

Esther1 Sat 01-Jun-19 07:39:19

Good Morning from Surrey. So glad lots of us all over the country are waking up to this marvellous blue sky. A gym class for me first (don’t be impressed, it’s very very undemanding for people of a certain age) then I pick up my 2 GDs, both 4 years old and cousins, and bring them home with me to stay overnight. Can’t wait to have them even though they’re pretty exhausting.
