Cake disappointment ?

Having nothing much to do this afternoon, I decided to take myself off to the nearest ‘historic house’ for tea and cake.

There were five kinds of cake on offer, all proudly bearing the label “Suitable for vegans”.

Well, yes, but as they all had some kind of nut as part of their makeup, decoration, flour, milk, main ingredient, there wasn’t one that I could have.

I did ask and the nice young man said their policy was to be vegan friendly and he wasn’t sure he could make a vegan cake without some kind of nut product.

So no cake for me ?

Probably best. I’ve got a wedding outfit to get into........
