Got bored with this evenings music offerings at Glastonbury, so watching a recording of ELO at Glastonbury, 2016.

Now there’s a band to rock to.

Watching Glastonbury on tv. I enjoy loads of different music and I like to try and broaden my knowledge. Can someone help me out with The Cure? Great drums and guitar, good melodies, but I can’t get my head around the singer. Voice is flat, he is not attractive and doesn’t dance. Come on Gransnet, tell me what I’m missing .......

Mark Radcliffe is certainly not a moron. He is recovering from oral cancer, so perhaps the chemo has made him more sensitive to smells. I bet even Michael Eavis complains about the smell of cow shit when he’s feeling unwell!

He did put on a very good show, though.

Shirls52000 I've loved Dave Grohl too ever since his Nirvana days - I saw the Foos at Leeds some years ago but went to see them at the Etihad last year which has to go down as one of the best gigs I've been to ever! Bit biased as my son is a drummer too

Kylie was great. It would have been the icing on the cake to have seen Jason Donovan though. Never mind, Chris Martin was a nice surprise.

We are not that far from somewhere where they have music events, if I like it I open the windows and listen, if not I shut the windows!

We are not particularly pop music fans - but she was great.

I was expecting Jason to walk in and duet with 'Especially for You' but she dedicated it to the Glastonbury fans.

I said to DH, 'if someone would just plonk me in the front row, I didn't have to camp, walk around the site - I would just love to be there!!'[ grin]

Why, though do they have to interview people afterwards? It's like the Wimbledon interviews just after a match. Unnecessary and it must be awful to have to sit there with a BBC interviewer just after a brilliant set or a victory at Wimbledon.

Please don't do it, BBC!

It would be my dream to be a Granny at Glasto. Loved my festival going days and I cant get enough of watching all the happy crowds singing, smiling and having the time of their lives. Alas I expect if I actually attended it would polish me off, but with a combination of iPlayer and the Beeb coverage switched through to our best speakers we are having a pretty good time watching it all from our sofa.

Up until now l wasn't especially a rock fan Suddenly at the ripe old age of 72 lwas asked out by the singer in a local classic rock band! We have been together now for almost 9 months and l go to most of their gigs and am being introduced to the wider world of rock music. My family including great-grandchildren think it is wonderful. Nanny the 'Rock Chick'. Us older ladies still have a lot to offer it seems.

Prefer the Proms & not just because my daughter plays in them very frequently - the range of all types of music is pretty amazing. Hence the enormous crowds that frequent every concert. I live about 6/7 miles from Glastonbury & all I can hear is a thumping great noise that continues all day & half the night. It even reverberates in my bedroom, which is the room furthest away! But I'm glad they're having such good weather even though within hours the ambulances were busy treating people who didn't seem to understand that the sun burns.

Great that David Attenborough was the inspirational speaker this year but I do wish he'd ended his bit by imploring them all to dispose of their rubbish responsibly before going home.

I used to go and see bands on Eel Pie Island, back in the day. Grew up on Pink floyd, Savoy Brown, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers etc over there. Still love blues and rock - saw the Stones last year and am going to see the Who on Saturday at Wembley. (though in the posh guest seats - there are limits on my stamina). I was FURIOUS when they moved Sounds of the Sixties to 6 am. I mean, who is up then apart from parents with babies, for whom it wouldn't appeal?

And Grandma70s - Glastonbury is one teeny weekend! The bloody proms go on for weeks. Some of the music I like of course, but honestly, a bit of perspective here!

I went to the Bath festival of jazz and blues in 169, I was 13! It was held right in the middle of Bath on the rec. Goodness only knows what the retired admirals who used to reside in stately Bath thought of it! Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, Taste! It was brilliant!
