this is how it works. A two way relationship, they have privileges and in return they treat the public with respect.

Doesn’t alienate me. I couldn’t care less. We have a monarchy, which is apparently our choice so we take the rough with the smooth. All a bit boring tbh. Given their upbringing it is no surprise that they seem a bit at odds with the world and each other.

Why announce the Christening , then say you aren't going to see any of it ! They could have gone ahead and not said anything . That is how you get privacy

I have no objection to the taxpayer funding the re-fit of their cottage within reason, however, I think a £5000 copper bath paid for by us (directly or indirectly) is a step too far.

They all have as much privacy as they desire. We only tend to see photos of them on official engagements. The rest of the time they have their privacy.

There has always been a sort of unofficial pact that in return for deference, wealth and privilege they share some important moments with the people. All this stuff about keeping this and that private just alienates people.

The maternity leave meant no official engagements, with the exception of Trouping of The Colours, carriage ride down the Mall and a place on the balcony .

I want to know why their maternity was graced with the term, 'maternity leave'! Leave from what? Try telling that to the pregnant mum working in a factory or standing all day serving customers in a store.

They are making it perfectly plain that they want to be part-time royals. She is a mature woman who has been married previously and is no wilting violet, so I don't think it's a case of one making all the decisions. I'm glad they seem to be so together as a couple, but now they should step down, give up their privileges and enjoy their private life. Oh and pay back the money for the refurb.

I think it's more to do with Harry than Meghan, because of what happened with his mother. I think Meghan is probably very sweet and will fill the role perfectly well when she returns to royal duties.

Sorry, but I think she is unfitted for her role.
I thought her maternity leave would give her time for reflection, but the rift with the Cambridges, the silly business over the place of birth, the secrecy of the christening and godparents, plus the huge expense on a totally unnecessary change of residence, have demeaned her, and him.
At least, hopefully, now she won't be clutching her stomach all the time.

lots of marriages where the wife "calls the shots " nothing wrong with it if its what both want.In this case they are taking taxpayers money so must be seen to be amenable to the public that support them .They dont appear to be able to do that.I couldn't care less I'd like to see the whole huddle of parasites gone for good .
