How many dogs does it take to change a light bulb?

Golden Retriever The sun is shining, the day is young, we’ve got our whole lives ahead of us, and you’re inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb?

Border Collie Just one. And then I’ll replace any wiring that’s not up to code.

Dachshund:You know I can’t reach that stupid lamp!

Rottweiler Make me.

Boxer:Who cares? I can still play with my squeaky toys in the dark.

Lab: Oh, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I? Pleeeeeeeeeze, please, please, please!

German Shepherd I’ll change it as soon as I’ve led these people from the dark, check to make sure I haven’t missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.

Jack Russell Terrier : I’ll just pop it in while I’m bouncing off the walls and furniture.

Old English Sheep Dog Light bulb? I’m sorry, but I don’t see a light bulb!

Cocker Spaniel Why change it? I can still pee on the carpet in the dark.

Chihuahua: Yo quiero Taco Bulb.

Pointer I see it, there it is, there it is, right there…..

Greyhound It isn’t moving. Who cares?

Australian Kelpie First, I’ll put all the light bulbs in a little circle…

Poodle I’ll just blow in the Border Collie’s ear and he’ll do it. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.

Beagle (with a suspicious bulge in its tummy): What lightbulb?

????

Cavalier I don’t need a light to love my human unconditionally. Kiss kiss.
Corgi Touch that bulb I’ll have your hand off.
Pug I can’t breathe when the hot light’s on.
* Irish Wolfhound* I can reach, I’ll do it.
Pit bull Kill it! Kill it!
Little Pup I is too busy being cute and weeing on the carpet.

I prefer cats, but these characterisations of dogs are so apt! Love them.

I am a cat woman, but love dogs too. That made me smile. Recognise the temperament of most breeds there. grin

A cat would look up, do a cat death stare, and say "Really?? Are you serious?? Get a dog if you want help round the house."

I very much doubt whether any dog has a 'lightbulb moment' ?

Then you should watch assistance and search dogs at work GabriellaG54

Love it Maw, we need a big smile don't we. My recent dog is a 12 month old very beautiful cocker spaniel. She'd been much loved but led a sheltered life so she's learning how to roll in fox pooh, jump in the mud, dash off to make new friends whilst playing deaf. We started a beginner training group, 'she's alright, for a cocker spaniel' said the trainer.

aw, so true! We have had a beagle (nothing was safe!) and now have an Aussie Shepherd.

Minniemoo Thu 11-Jul-19 20:23:36

Oh I love this. And so true! I've had dogs all my life. Got a cheeky Jack Russell who does indeed bounce off the ceiling and I've had 4 greyhounds over the years. Laziest dogs ever. Unless they see a rabbit! Thanks for posting. Certainly raised a smile from me.

We have a Lurcher, a CavaJack (Jack Russel crossed with a cavalier spaniel, and a cocker spaniel. If they could speak they would be saying to each other, "you do it, No you do it , No you do it !" .

kittylester Sat 13-Jul-19 17:02:43

Our basset hounds would have said, 'leave it be - I can sleep much better in the dark!'

Our Afghan would have said, 'I cant do it, it might mess my hair up'

Our miniature schnauzers would have said, 'you do it I'm too busy running around! Does anyone know why I'm running around?'
