Its been a day of sunshine, rain, storms and more rain.
A morning frittered away at Slimming was also a bit up and down, down for Grampy and up for me !!

Good luck for tomorrow Dragonfly, hope your meeting goes as well as it can.

Hope the solicitors visit goes well Panache- what a relief it will be to have it all done and dusted.

Feel better soon Lins bad backs affect everything so hope it passes quickly.

I solved the get well package issue Corner with a book about bugs ( a current passion) , some jelly sweets and a voucher to spend when he feels better . Its not quite a tin of chicken soup but hopefully it will do the trick .

I am off to check on dinner, in an effort to get my weight loss on track we are having coca cola chicken tonight...I reserve judgement.

Good afternoon dear you lot. I am home after a very bust ironing session. My pal is lovely. But, with 45 mins to go, she invariably walks up to me with an additional armful of "last minute items which I need not do..." What's a girl to do? Get a move on and complete the task...that's the answer.

I now have my own ironing to tackle. After which, I shall pack a wee bag with all the necessities for just two days away.

I have enjoyed a brief catch-up. I intend returning later this afternoonn. smile]

I was waiting in all am for a belt to arrive via Amazon. It was coming 7 am to 10 pm but in the end, it was the postman on foot from Royal Mail who popped it through my letterbox. How to waste time without trying. I am now waiting for Morrison's man and then the day is my own with a beautifully clean house, not cleaned by me!

I cannot tidy upstairs yet because I cannot get downstairs fast enough when anybody rings the doorbell. The stairlift chair goes at its own pace- slow.

Just a quick popping in to my favourite haunt and I just had to wish our dear hostest Soop and her beloved MacS a very safe journey and the best of appointments yet again,we shall not rest until you are safely back amongst us,where you so belong.You will both be very much in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry hearing that you have done yourself a mischief this day Lins1066 by accompaning your husband to Lidl, and now that back pain is worse than ever.Thankfully the MRI scan is near but obviously thae results will take time to filter through, and so give you the real pain relief and diagnoses you truly need.At least you are wearing your sensible hat in not even thinking of trying your hand in helping out at the bungalow.I really do hope that pain subsides and real relief will soon follow.

Post `op takes its time Grannysyb so just you be sure to take things nice and easy........although much easier said than done!!!

Your dear man too Carllion hopefully having some helpful news on his appointment,the only trouble being any diagnoses then takes time to be set up, be administered and start the healing process.But certainly a step in the right direction nevertheless.

A Solicitor`s visit today,yes we are ...........hopefully......nearing THE END of this house move and sale saga...........it seems to have been going on for ever!!
My Diverticulitis has kept me awake most of the night,it has been ongoing for well over a month but now worsening.............and as you all know,I simply cannot allow myself time or the space to be truly off sick.

DH has gone to move some furniture in his late parents' bungalow. It needs a lick of paint before we put it on the market, so much needs doing and at present I am unable to help. It has been empty since January and we don't really want it unoccupied over another winter.
I am in a lot of pain today and dreading the car journey for the scan on Thursday.
Glad to hear that you are post op and are making progress Grannysyb. You will be home and in your own bed soon. ?

Hope you enjoy the Royal Yacht, GG - I visited it on a WI trip several years ago and thought it a most interesting visit but surprisingly unluxurious. Sounds like a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

I am having a lovely time with me friend.
She told me it is 7 years since we saw each other, I hadn't tealised so much time had passed.
She is a superb host and treating me so well .
Dhe is also a wonderful cook and she knows I love my food.
For dinner last night we had homemade pate, a game casserole and for dessert... chicken and ham pie.
It should have been fruit so we had a yoghurt.
It made us laugh for ages.
Off for a drive today to old haunts of mine, so looking gorward to it.

We are really enjoying Edinburgh had a walking tour around the "Royal Mile" yesterday morning and toured Edinburgh Castle yesterday afternoon.

On recommendation from one of our AC we had cocktails and dinner in Monteiths at the lower end of the Royal Mile, the food was delicious and the atmosphere really "buzzy".

Our hotel is on the waterfront in Leith and we are off to the Royal Yacht Britannia after breakfast.

It has been very breezy but we have managed to dodge the rain.

chicken I had to give up driving 20 years ago following a back operation, it is hard giving up that independence. I do feel for you, but you will find a way round it.

I have an MRI scan on Thursday which hopefully will determine the cause of my latest bout of back pain. I foolishly accompanied my DH to Lidl this morning and the pain is now worse, my fault, I shouldn't have gone but just wanted to do something 'normal' if that doesn't sound too daft. Can't sleep so am going to read my kindle, then will say my prayers and remember all in Soop's kitchen.

Evening All. Grey and damp all day here, yucky. Been fairly productive, accomplished some tedious tasks and enjoyed two chatty phone calls as well as a short visit to our nearest town. Yes, the plumber came . Couldn’t immediately fix the problem but has a plan and will return. We’re reassured, still have crossed fingers though.

Lovely painting soop, those two look as if they are watching the world go by. Hope macs returned safely.

Hope jackson is on the mend n&g. The get well package sounds a challenge.

Today I was uplifted hearing about a gentleman who has been on Alzheimer drugs for 20 years and is still doing well. It spurred me on in my swimming session, although sadly I have to report that my new cap makes no obvious reduction in drag nor enables me to go faster.

At last the rain stopped ! Although its been misty rain for the last hour at least the torrential downpour has stopped for now.

I know Charley what a way to make your fortune though , through lost teeth. Actually , the young man in question is proper poorly today and was sent home from school. I have been tasked with sending a get well soon parcel ! I shall have to get my thinking cap on , as when we lived round the corner I would pop round with a tin of chicken soup, grapes and a Lucozade ( none of which will travel well through the post I suspect!!).

I spent a lovely morning in the quaintest coffee and book shop learning to crotchet. I can crotchet but didn't know the names of the stitches or how do read a pattern. I met 7 lovely ladies and will be enjoying 2 more mornings in their company before I embark on my big blanket challenge.

I shall post a picture next time so you can see how high Im aiming - I may miss that mark !!

Charleyg I have spent a few days having a thorough clear out. Apart from items that will go to the Salvation Army and the Red Cross, I've decided to sell the outfit that I purchased for a recent wedding, plus a beautiful party dress (unworn), a wool jacket by Ted Baker (now too small and only worn twice), and a pair of tartan evening shoes (unworn) on eBay. I know from experience that I won't make much spending money - but - every little helps.

MacSporran Bless his cotton socks, will shortly be driving home having had the car serviced. I've missed him. Daft as a brush!

The sun is shining. It is blowy but not cold. Tomorrow I shall be doing the ironing for my pal a day earlier than usual. We have the hospital appointments to attend Wed and Thurs., so I probably won't be able to catch up with you until Friday sometime.

By the way, should the new kitchen need opening during my absence, please will you decide among yourselves who is to do the honours?

After another glorious day of sunshine yesterday,although truly breezy,today dawqned dull and dreary.Yet the temperatures are staying well into 2 figures.

We find this flat extremely warm and whilst doing just a small spot of ironing this morning, I was actually mopping sweat from my brow!!!

Well done Charleyg on what seems a very cathartic clear out,the only thing is that now you have emptied and tidied various cupboards you have allowed space for further delights!!

Must say you have not lost any of your artistic ability dear Soop,in fact you have truly done justice to those dear dogs yet again.

Hopefully there will be no repurcussions regarding your husband`s TIA Kitty..........we learned in a similar fashion and it does have you sitting up and thinking all sorts.He does seem to have been more than through the proverbial mill latterly,hopefully it will be only upwards from now on.

Dear grannysyb I apologise for not remembering to wish you a speedy recovery from your hop op. I trust that you are being very well cared for. Be patient. It takes time to heal properly. I've had both hips replaced. The good thing is...as you will realise, the pain that blighted your life prior to surgery, is no more.
