Paddyann I hope all your reminiscense were recorded, it's so hard to remember if you can't play it back.
I ducked out on my duties at the house of mourning completely today as the bug I thought I'd beaten, came back to claim my voice.
So I spent the day in my nightgown, listening to the totally rivetting, "Caesar's last breath : decoding the secrets of the air around us." by Sam Kean.
Haven't felt like eating but picked at a few grapes and had some miso soup at lunchtime.
Slept most of the afternoon (what luxury to be able to do so) and now, at 8pm feel a good deal better. Haven't tried out the voice as there's no one to talk to but my throat's not so scratchy.
Email just in asks if I will have my grandson on Monday and Thursday next week - so that's something lovely to look forward to. Might take him climbing, he always enjoys that.
Good Morning Wednesday 19th August2026
