I don’t read newspapers. I listen to their interviews , the ones whilst they were in South Africa ?

To go to this country as representatives of the Queen as head of the Commonwealth, announce they were going to sue newspapers then complain people didn’t ask her if she was ok whilst pregnant, followed by his usual attack on the press for his mothers death,

The poverty in South Africa ? Perhaps they didn’t notice .

His announcement that there will be no announcement about the birth of their baby , baby born and he summons the press to Windsor to make an announcement about the baby,

So not newspapers but from their own mouths .

I don't know what all the fuss is about after all, Meghan married Harry, why one asks, was it love at first sight or the fact he was a Prince? After the disgraceful behaviour of Charles to Diana and Andrew to Fergie the bride to be, Meghan, had fair warning what life would be like for a British royal.
Their complaints does not hold too much water. Why do they continue seeking publicity is it for their good causes? Or is that Meghan is miffed she married a minor Royal who will never be king? a bit like Edward and Mrs Simpson, is history repeating itself here?

If they really want a private life away from public gaze and not be part of the Christmas family of the Queen, that is fine but first they must give up their titles, land, Royal houses, privileges and any income we tax payers pay them. Perhaps they can live on Meghan's pay whilst Harry is a stay at home dad looking after the children. They can live in a semi somewhere and have both families over Christmas; just like the rest of us. No one will complain as it the way normal people live.

There are far more important things going on in this country then why H&M are not staying with the Queen for Christmas. I think the press should start behaving in a more useful way by leaving these unimportant people alone and start exposing the untruths banded in the media during the last three years. Who really is being genuine and honest or are we just being told what we want to hear because it is comfortable and easy. Are we really sheep being led by donkeys because that is what it feels like at the moment during this terrible election campaign. Get a gripe.

I do agree with getting people’s names right - I see it as being sloppy/disrespectful if you don’t (I’ve been targeted a few times on some of the political threads because my views have been out of kilter with those being promoted) although the odd mistake can be accidental.

I do think Prince Harry could take some lessons from his grandmother on how to conduct himself - gracious indeed.

Did you watch the documentary about H&M in South Africa, Paperbackwriter? A lot of our criticism concerns are based on words that came out of their mouths.

They also announced that they were going to sue various newspapers before they had even returned, thus making a nonsense out of all the good will they'd achieved in the first week and also drawing attention away from William and Kate's tour of Pakistan.

The press wouldn't be stirring things up about Christmas if they'd just kept their heads down and got on with things.

And now they need a six week break??

Annie Just because some might spell Megan that way in Wales, it doesn't mean it is OK to change the spelling of Meghan Markle's name. I have a French friend called Alain. I'm not sure he'd be pleased if he were addressed as 'Alan' just because some Brit decided they were too parochial to accept that there are variations in names.
That said, I don't give a flying f* about what the royals do at Christmas but it does annoy me that it's open season on Meghan Markle simply because so many of you read the trash papers and seem to believe every silly word.

Kathy1959 I think Diana 'struggled' with the fact that her husband loved someone else before and during her marriage and had married her merely to provide heirs! I do so hope the Queen has done the emotional blackmail thing as my own much loved mother-in-law did for the last 20 years of her life. Every Christmas it was, "this could be my last one.." to the point where we would take bets on which day she'd come out with it.

It would have been lovely to see photos of the family with the little family included.
Perhaps they'll be able to photoshop them in which is what some friends did when a member of the family couldn't be present for official photos!

Yes, indeed, our Queen is gracious.

I think I might like or dislike them. I think it fairly briefly and sometimes I change my mind.
For example I think I like Maxine Peak but I don't know. I think I don't like Phillip Schofield but I don't know.

I know irrational online hatred when I see it annie. One clue is repeating ad nauseum the same petty facts/ opinions/ statements about her whenever her name comes up.

Easy, you like everyone you see, every celebrity, every politician? I do not.

How can you not like somebody you don't know? Very puzzling.

This will no doubt be unwelcome but I don’t like MM and I think she and especially Harry are very niave if they didn’t expect to have to stick with Royal traditions, ncluding meat eating and hunting- who has asked them to change the RF .... not me. I have had the same guests to Christmas for the last 30 years including the now ancient MIL. I have as I believe the Queen did - extended an invitation to Family in-laws as they have become part of the family. My SiL always comes here, as his parents go away for Christmas. I think M and H are very unroyal and if they want to shuffle off to be private citizens they should get on with it. The monarchy is safe and as it should be with Will, Kate and family, who seem to know what’s required of them.

humpty my younger granddaughter is vegan and she has a sense of humour
