Right, kitcheners, get busy. You know the routine. The tin of flapjacks to keep you going is in the corner with a kettle. The water's already on.

ann Molly would NOT have been amused. No way will she share you with an adorable pug. grin

My visits to the kitchen have been a bit erratic of late but I'm not sure I've seen callgirl for a while - am I mistaken?

soop, I hope you get a flipping resolution soon. You must be quite pissed off fed up by now.

Charleygirl5 Wed 15-Jan-20 16:26:31

ann Tara could teach young Molly a trick or two. Her latest when at the vet is to curl up into a ball and stay there. It costs me money because she now has to be anaesthetised for the simplest of procedures. I am not allowed near her to try persuading her otherwise.

I agree, I do hope it is sorted soon soop. You want the pair of you to live your lives again.

The visit to the dentist was really, really, really painful. The troublesome double tooth has partly come away together with part of the ancient filling. The dentist cannot extract the tooth due to the Zoledronic Acid infusions that I'm having post cancer. An extraction may well lead to osteonecrosis of the jaw (which is truly ghastly) and is to be avoided at all costs. All that she could do was to puff air into the cavity and put in some cement. If the cement doesn't do the job, the concrete stuff comes out and I shall need root canal treatment. I've had numerous painful procedures during my life. None has hurt quite as much as having air blown into that cavity. Honest to goodness, I almost jumped out of the chair. Now I have a raging tooth ache. Dear me, I am beyond thankful to be home.

Until tomorrow. TOYA moon

soop so sorry you had unpleasant visit to the dentist. I have lots of caps in my mouth and I am hoping they all stay intact. I hope the pain eases soon.

kitty there has been a post from callgirl on another thread. I was wondering where she was.

Beautiful photos Izabella I would love to visit Australia and New Zealand. My SiL is Australian but living in London.

Hope you feel better soon feelingmyage. I went to see my mum today and all the old ladies were coughing all over me. I am hoping I still manage to miss it as I have to see the oncologist tomorrow and chemo on Friday. I am quite nervous as I am starting another type of chemo so not sure how I will react.

Lovely stories about Molly and the pug ann. I hope you are feeling more upbeat. You certainly do have a place here! Don't even consider leaving GN.

Susan56 Wed 15-Jan-20 17:32:25

Oh soop?I really hope the cement does the trick?

grannyqueenie Wed 15-Jan-20 17:51:49

You and me both kitty, it feels like I haven’t yet managed to get back to a normal routine was it ever really normal? after the festive period. I’d missed callgirl too but hadn’t got around to saying so, hope she’s ok.

Ann It’s funny how a breed you’re n
not normally so keen on can seem very endearing when there’s a puppy involved.! Sounds like your Molly is very cute very kitty sorry kitty! Hope your feel a bit more chipper soon, Ann these dark January days can feel endlessly grim- they do little to lift the spirits. Have you a date for your hip op yet?

soop it’s awful to think of the number of women left suffering in such terrible pain following gynae repairs. Hope your procedure leads to a solution for you, we’re all crossing fingers and toes for you for your appointment.

Izabella your word and photo record of your NZ adventure had been such a joy to follow. It’s brought back many happy memories for me and no doubt for others too. Thank you so much for sharing it with us all.

I don’t ever remember staying indoors for school playtime, we were out come rain or shine or even snow. The only concession was a covered playground shelter, for use in extreme weather only!! Of course in the 50s we girls didn’t wear trousers or tights it was skirts and knee length socks and short trousers (sometimes kilts) with knee length socks for the boys....brrrr!

We’ve once again been really fortunate here, we seem have our own micro climate here which means we do miss the extremes of wind, rain and snow when they hit the rest of the country. As it is every time we stray off a path it’s like stepping into a bog, I dread to think what it would’ve like if we’d had the weather other parts gave experienced.

Can’t stop to acknowledge everyone, but as always toya especially those unwell or on nursing duties. I’m guessing still no news from the Panaches or have I missed an update while awol? Enjoy your evening everyone. xx

soop your dental account truly brought tears to my eyes, I do hope it eases as the tune goes on. You seem to be assaulted from every angle, sending you a gentle hug, a wee dram and a packet of paracetamol - in the hope that one or all of those will help! xx

dragonfly hope you escape the bugs and your new regime is an easy one to tolerate. x

cornergran Wed 15-Jan-20 18:14:16

Ouch soop. A dentist once recommended I take ibuprofen with a large glass of wine for dental pain - it worked, suspect the wine more than the ibuprofen though. Wishing you a comfortable night.

Susan56 Wed 15-Jan-20 18:23:14

Dragonfly, crossed posts.I hope you have a successful appointment tomorrow and that you cope well with the new chemo regime?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 15-Jan-20 19:09:29

soopthanks

Charleygirl5 Wed 15-Jan-20 21:10:11

soop I squirmed in my chair when I read about your trip to the dentist.

I would definitely be seeking alcohol for medicinal purposes.

Dragonfky I know I am teaching granny to suck eggs but you really need to give coughs and sneezes a wide berth if at all possible.
A very dear friend, DD’s godmother, is currently undergoing chemo and fighting an infection in hospital in London and much as I would like to visit her, I have cancelled twice because I cannot shake off the current cough. ??????

MawB Wed 15-Jan-20 21:31:18

Dragonfly -apologies for Fat Finger Syndrome!

cornergran Wed 15-Jan-20 23:22:45

Wishing you well for your chemo dragonfly, please stay germ free.

callgirl1 Thu 16-Jan-20 00:11:20

Hello, I`m still around, but after taking a break from the kitchen, I feel so far out of things that I`m finding it difficult to get back in. I was TOYA whilst absent though. xx

Nannytopsy Thu 16-Jan-20 08:04:47

Welcome back callgirl.
No builders today, so a bit of a lie in! I hope your tooth has settled down Soop - I too am a very nervous dental patient.
Cod liver oil and malt kept us going as children too!

cornergran Thu 16-Jan-20 13:03:38

Good to see you callgirl. It’s a busy Kitchen that’s for sure.

I didn’t think it possible but I’m even more grumpy today. Sore throat is back with a vengeance along with the delightful cough. Worse things happen I know but I am oh tired of feeling unwell. One of ours is needing help with his c.v., always my task so energy (and patience!) will appear from somewhere as it has to.

Hope your tooth has settled soop.

TOYA, stay safe in the wind and rain.

soop Thu 16-Jan-20 13:32:44

Bless you all. I did have a wee dram and a painkiller and I felt very much more comfortable as a result. Hell's Bells! Holy Moly! etc. IThe very thought of that visit makes me wince. Believe me, I am not a wimp. I have stayed brave during many a procedure. Hey ho...as Baggs would say.

dragonfly You are never too far from my thoughts. We are all hoping that your new treatment works well for you. Lots of hugs. x

callgirl It doesn't matter that you haven't been into our kitchen recently. What counts, is that you are back where you belong. Welcome!

The wind remains blustery. It is also raining. I've decided to do my ironing and watch the snooker. An indoor day is on the cards.

We are going to "the pictures" tomorrow afternoon. The film is 1917. We have to visit our pal in the care home and leave the car at the garage for a couple of hours. MacSporran has become a late-starter-film-buff. He has booked the tickets. Funny that he he feels the need to do so. There are, on average, during the early afternoon performance, about two dozen people in the audience. wink

Baggs Thu 16-Jan-20 13:37:08

soop, I felt your wince as that air went in to your tooth cavity!! flowers flowers xx

MrB is booked in for some root canal treatment next week. He had the same area seen to about ten years ago. Apparently needing it done again is not uncommon.

I've got a dental appointment tomorrow. I'm not expecting anything more than a scrape and polish.

soop Thu 16-Jan-20 13:42:49

Baggs Arrrrrrgh! At least whilst I'm under a GA on Tuesday, I won't be aware of instruments being poked up my nethers. Mind you, the thought of the long journey home when I'm turfed out of the hospital, could be a sore issue.

Nannytopsy Thu 16-Jan-20 14:21:01

Soop you have nudged us to stir our stumps and we are off to the cinema to see 1917 too!

Charleygirl5 Thu 16-Jan-20 15:17:47

It has been sunny all morning here but it is dull now. I appear to be washing for London- where does it all come from?

When I settle down to watch TV in the evenings I still need a box of tissues close by and I have started coughing again.

I am meeting up tomorrow with GNs for coffee and possibly lunch and I am not looking forward to a tube journey with a few people who probably have colds but are almost forced for whatever reason to work.
TOYA

soop Thu 16-Jan-20 16:40:31

Nannytopsy We shall compare notes. smile

Charleyg Enjoy your meeting with other Gransnetters. It has been so long since I last used the tube and, to be honest, I have no wish to do so any time soon - if ever.

Ironing done. MacSporran has gone to put the chickens to bed. They will have put themselves on their perches...but he will lock the entrance to the coop and wish them goodnight. He's a real softie when it comes to creatures.

TOYA and trusting that I shall get a moment to pop into the kitchen during tomorrow.

Stay cosy. smile moon
