Annsixty ?
Izabella ?
Apologies to anyone I have missed.

Things that (sometimes unreasonably) get on your nerves...hopefully lighthearted
Right, kitcheners, get busy. You know the routine. The tin of flapjacks to keep you going is in the corner with a kettle. The water's already on.
Annsixty ?
Izabella ?
Apologies to anyone I have missed.
Greyduster my DC are just the same. My DD reverts to child again at home re cooking whereas my DS takes over without being asked. Both brought up the same.
Oh Isabella what a start to your holiday. I hope you can enjoy the rest of your time.
Lovely picture of you Ann.
Good to see you in the kitchen Mary. I endorse what you said on the Good Morning thread.
Blasts and fogs upon BT, I say! Their promised call to the Soops' residence didn't happen today. It is, as soop says, DIABOLICAL service. She is missing you all something rotten. I sent your love.
Virtual kicks up the backside of Argyll branch of BT might help. Get to it, Kitcheners!
Dragonfly, much sympathy to you, I only check in occasionally but alway feel you are so low key compared to others and have much to be sad about but I’m sure it will all come good, all best wishes and keep your chin up?
My goodness ann you are very glamorous. What a lovely photo.
izabella my goodness what a holiday you are having.
If soop is out of action much longer we will need to get up a coach party to visit her.
TOYA?
Oh Doodle how flattered I am and embarrassed by your kindness.
We have been to the cinema this afternoon first time in years for me, it was quite a treat.
Home tomorrow and back to it.
TOYA especially the poorly ones and soop in her frustration.
Good news this evening. DD and SiL are with us for Christmas week when I will be fit. DS, DiL and DGG are coming after New Year for a couple of days when I will not be so fit but they will do everything.
So who has the phone number for the Argyll branch of BT - we need Soop back!
Good news dragonfly, you have a lovely and supportive family.
Welcome to Soop’s Kindly Kitcheners Megs36
I hope you will become a regular and be able to reassess your opinion of me as expressed elsewhere (Megs36 Sun 01-Dec-19 22:58:19,
Don’t think she likes anyone with an opinion !)
Somebody has partially parked on my front lawn- maybe I should charge? Luckily for him I did not see him.
I am full of Christmas cheer as you can see! At least Tara allowed me to sleep from 1 am until 7.30 am - why I have no idea.
I must post my overseas cards today- cannot really be bothered.
I received a hospital appointment for tomorrow and it was not a cancellation! I have cancelled it- a tad too short notice especially as I had cancelled yesterday's coffee meetup and then said it was okay again. I do not like messing up people so the appointment can wait.
TOYA
Charlie how irritating to find someone's car on your front lawn. I am afraid I would lie in wait and give him a piece of my mind!!
Feisty with it I see, Dragonfly.
It's a while since I've visited the kitchen but so good to catch up and see older members, familiar faces is what I meant to say really, as looking back at the pic of Baggs, she's not old at all.
I hope Soop and the Panaches are doing alright as all had their crosses to bear.
Lovely pics of " Tazzie " Izabella, but sorry you landed in " hozzie " at " Auzzie "-----which is why I won't risk another visit there, sadly. I'll stick with my memories/ photo's of the last visit.
Annsixty the boozer, eh ? Cocktails indeed. What was in the glass, pea-soup ? Or was it one of those green veggie smoothies ?
Hope everyone's battling through the crowds okay, stay well and warm.
Baggs I am right behind you! That is not service at all, is it!? soop that is frustration beyond anything acceptable.
Dragonfly I am so pleased that your family have rearranged things to make everything so much happier for you and from what you say it sounds like you have the right one there at the appropriate times; wishing you all a truly blessed time together. xx
Smokie has been out since early yesterday mornng and clearly he is not returning in all this rain so I'm hoping for a 'window of dryness'. I cannot even see beyond the end of our garden and normally I can see for miles.
Stay warm, dry and safe. TOYA
Lovely photo Annsixty I hope you enjoyed your cocktail.
I am off to “dress the Christmas tree” Mr.Gravy is very lucky he is not “shoved on the top” instead of the angel
Perhaps I am grouchy today as he seems to be constantly under my feet or looking over my shoulder even in Sainsbury’s this morning, I think he is missing our GS more than he is admitting to.
Hope to hear from our dear soop soon.
I am not venturing far from the kitchen till after the 12/12 as it all seems to be getting rather “het up” even a nice conversational thread has got combative
TOYA
I’m so pleased for you dragonfly. Much better news.
soop and macs must be spitting feathers. I’ll get in line with the hit squad.
Oh dear Charley. That’s more than irritating. You’re being very restrained. I’d be contemplating a very to the point note on the windscreen. Mr C would doubtlessly restrain me but I’d feel so much better after writing it
.
You’re right grannyg so many combative threads. Folk have more energy than I do that’s for sure.
Pouring here too synonymous. I need to venture forth this afternoon, just hate getting wet. Smokie obviously agrees with me, a sensible cat.
Lunch time now. TOYA, take care everyone.
Charlie DD had a similar thing with someone continually parking right on the edge of her grass where it always struggled to grow. She was talking about how she was going to have to try and reseed it and whether spikes would help to keep people from parking there and discovered it was her own cleaner! She doesn't do it now!
Our gardening friend has been such a blessing whilst I have been confined to the house. He coaxed a shopping list out of me and got stamps for the cards and posted them so that we feel more in control. Himself had got all the letters and envelopes printed, signed the cards and most important licked the gum because I couldn't find the sponge! What a star! (Why don't we have an emoji for that?)
I have started a list for foodstuffs for Christmas so that all the ingredients will be in place - I just need to organise someone to get the stuff for me - and I will get there. Himself is being very negative as regards making the house look Christmassy for the DGC, which doesn't surprise me really but we will just have to find someone willing to help and keep it as simple as possible.
Seems BT's definition of "urgency" is different from that held by the rest of the world. soop has been informed that BT engineers workers will "as a matter of urgency" look into the cause of the problem on Friday 13th. soop did not supply me with her actually unprintable comments in response to this.
For goodness sake baggs. Are they on a different time to the rest of the world? Appalling service or rather dis-service. Thanks for letting us know. Please tell soop we all miss her.
dragonfly and corner I drove to the shops a couple of hours ago and noticed to thank me for his parking the fellow kindly emptied the contents of the inside of his car on my lawn. (who else was there?) I would not have been responsible for my speech or actions if I had seen him.
When I returned everything had been removed- I do not believe the windy weather removed it all.
I have to also personally thank somebody for dropping sandwich contents and an empty plastic bottle. At least these are easier to clear away.
Unfortunately I own three lawns and we are not allowed to put up fencing or mine would be spiked and electrified.
I am in the perfect Christmas spirit having also told a Sainsbury manager to increase their staff at the customer service desk. I write the word "service" very loosely because there was one hassled lady there and a long queue.
TOYA
Evening all!
Oh Charley the trials and tribulations eh? Your Sainsbury's experience was different to mine with M &S yesterday. My long awaited jumper arrived with a couple of items and Grampy and I were amazed how small the box was ( in fact I thought I didn’t have the 3 ordered items). But when we opened it the jumper was kind of screwed up and forced in .
Luckily the invoice not only had the usual details but a code to identify the Packer!! . I promptly wrote an email address to A523901 , wondering if they were feeling alright and did they need a mince pie and a break because my poor sweater would never recover ! Exactly 10 mins later M &S called me , refunded me and apologised. Arranged for a new sweater to be sent out and this morning I got a box of mince pies from them lol !
I love it when it’s so easy. Would you like a mince pie too ???
Glad to hear the good news Dragonfly!
Christmas is rushing up fast and this week is all about baking , freezing and testing! The little boys and their parents arrive Friday evening for a much hyped and longed for visit to Elf Academy !! It’s going to be exciting !
I was told at Sainsbury's I had got the ref. number wrong- I double checked at home- birdbrain had gone to the wrong Sainsburys! Oh dear- not the best of days.
Zilch on TV for me tonight so early to bed to read my book. No doubt Tara will take advantage of wanting cuddles. It would be good if she would check the time and come home earlier.
TOYA
Charley Smokie has still not returned home, starting to be concerned now!
Blooming cats Syn! Ours has taken to going out late and not wanting to come in. But he is most aggrieved if we don’t respond to his yowls!
Synonymous I know exactly how you feel. Some nights I have gone to bed and madam has come to my bedroom to tell me she is home and it is nearly midnight. I cannot sleep until she is home so I do understand.
My bedding was changed today so she no doubt is fast asleep on it. She prefers it when there is a hot water bottle under the duvet but she will have to wait a tad longer for that luxury.
I do hope that minx is home by now.
synonymous hope Smokie is home now.
How does Tara get in charley ? Does she have a cat flap or do you have to go out and get her? Can’t believe your cats would want to be outside when they have a nice warm home to come to.
I think it’s nice of you to read Tara a bedtime story charley. Is it Puss in Boots
