I saw Long John Baldry with Rod Stewart above a garage in Derby around 1965 - it was brilliant. I also saw the Walker Brothers in Derby around the same time.

I saw Gene Pitney a few times and loves 24 Hours from Tulsa.

We have seen Meatloaf about 6 times and wish I had seen Jonny Cash. I love Kris Kristofferson blush

Wonderful memories from those names above!

We were privileged to get to see 'Elvis at the O2' on 1st December, Priscilla Presley brought over his old band members, and teamed them up with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to accompany videos of his old concerts, shown on the big screens. It was fantastic, just as if we were attending one of his concerts. She had tears in her eyes at the end, saying it would be the last concert. Bless them, amazing that the band could still produce that sound, and they deserve their rest!

My cousin used to hang out with Long John Baldry. I only found out at his funeral (my cousin’s that is).

welbeck I honestly didn't think anyone would say Jake Thackray. Were you part of the group who persuaded EMI to re-release his songs? He was an amazing person, sadly driven to misery by his fame.

Kathleen Ferrier was my mother's favourite but I'm not a fan of music in any form, though can tolerate the very occasional song.

Singing is a different matter, I could sing all day smile

I agree about many listed. The other evening a memory triggered a song by John Denver, so I went to youtube and spent the evening listening to him. I realised that I hadn't really appreciated years ago just what an amazing voice he had. Beautiful lyrics and a lovely voice. Sad ending.

Whenever mum became agitated due to dementia I had a playlist I could rely on to calm her. It was made up of all her favourites but it was Matt Monro's 'Days Like These' that worked every time.
